The Virtual Reality Chat (VRC) Convention and Projekt: Community Festivals are lengthy conventions focusing on the VRChat "metaverse (the real metaverse!)" - the substance of VRChat itself: The Community! The people who log in, who slap on the headsets and trackers (or fire up their desktops), those who host roleplay groups, event nights, game nights, and bring their communities together - that's what these conventions are all about: All things VRChat, and the people who help make this platform exactly what it is!

Projekt: Community was even awarded a distinguished honor, earning Gold in the 2024 People's Telly Awards for Immersive and Mixed Reality!

Embrace Virtual Reality - it will only grow from here!

Projekt: Community was born out of the continuation of VRCon, with many staff gathering together to support the effort. Its purpose is to provide opportunity for groups to come together in a single space, promote their activities, and recruit new members. This is one of the best and most effective and well-attended events for VRChat users to find groups to play with!

Projekt: Festival 2024, June 28-July 8, 2024:

Projekt: Festival 2024 was this year's latest community gathering of various groups and organizations from all across VRChat. Members of the crew personally invited a number of groups which otherwise had no representation at Projekt: Festival and made sure to help them along the way with setting up a booth, poster, and event.

This time, booth submissions were done via a Unity software development kit, much as one would upload a world or avatar. Further, groups without access to Unity could still upload textures to add to pre-fabricated booths to ensure they could be included in the festival, making for a very seamless and convenient implementation of booths.

In all, 108 booths were set up, mostly custom-made booths (rather than pre-fabricated booths). Such new faces included WaterWolf, Soaring Fitness, Dance Dance VR, Miami Vice Parties, Disciplines of TRON, Starvexia's Den, TailBass, ProtoFox Network, Furry Events Community, the VR Game Show Group, Furry Getaway/Inn, Corbelle's Music Festival, and the Mississippi Seawolves Hockey Team, amongst others. The festival world was upgraded out of laboratory status within 1.5 hours, and even elevated itself to "Trending" within two days, with over 30,000 visits logged.

Projekt: Community even sold t-shirts and stickers, and was made an ambassador for the VKET Virtual Marketplace group!

I was personally thanked by Soaring Fitness during the workout session, after personally working with them even beyond the deadlines to ensure they had everything they needed for a successful event.

It is an honor to be part of these operations and this group!

Projekt: Lenz is a weekend-long celebration of the creative minds of VRChat's movie-making and video-producing enthusiasts! This weekend gives video makers the opportunity to show off their films, trailers, clips, and features.

Some of the films were trailers. Others were engaging stories which invoke thought or scored some hearty laughs!

Projekt: Community Festival, June 23-25, 2023:

Projekt: Community's inaugural event, a massive community festival, was held between June 23-25, 2023, and saw its homeworld venue filled to capacity quickly. Within hours, the world was elevated out of labs status as the convention ran in full swing, with several booths showcasing several VRChat organizations.

I personally volunteered as a member of the Events Team, helping to oversee the Avi Wars tournament.

The entire convention was a runaway success!

Avifair: VR Festival Season 3: Cheesetown, April 5-20, 2024

Avifair's Season 3 deployed a world full of dinosaurs and cheese! The festival incorporated world-builders, asset makers, groups and communities, and avatar creators, embracing a platform promoting virtual reality rather than just developers and avatar makers.

CozyCon's own  Kudalyn set up a booth during the convention, which won three awards during the Awards Ceremony for Best Avatar Design, Most Inclusive Avatar, and Most Creative Avatar!


AviFair: Avatar Festival Season 2 Christmas, December 9-24, 2023

AviFair is a festival group focusing on avatar makers, world builders, community leaders and organizers, and game developers. Every organization from independent developers to large-scale teams showcases their work at the festival, which caters to games both in and out of VRChat.
