Lost fursuits to the fandom
Its so sad that there are so many furs who owned a fursuit who left the fandom who just locked away their fursuit(s) in some box in the attic never to be seen again.
It would be nice if when someone decided that furry was no longer for them and they owned a fursuit that they would sell their fursuit to someone else. There are so many fursuits that looked really awesome that are never seen again as the owner left the fandom. There are a number of fursuits that I would have been more than happy to buy if only I could get a hold of the last owner who had not been seen for years. For example There was one really awesome realistic kangaroo fursuit that was photoed only once at RMFC 2010 and has never been seen again. I would have been more than happy to have bought it if only I could have found the owner.

What if it was connected to a permanent establishment for con going. Whole hotel with thousands of rooms. Multiple halls. Have to be massive. Could host multiple fur cons... and other cons, too.
This could work. So, who has a couple trillion dollars for the idea?
I am spending a large sum of money to have 1,000+ SF barn built to use in part to house my fursuit collection as the bedroom that I have been using is overflowing with my fursuit collection. And the cost that I am going through is only a tiny drop in the bucket to what it would cost to house a fursuit museum.
As for the traveling idea, I'm instantly drawn to the warning about how trailers make super juicy targets for thieves, hoping to make a quick dollar. After all, these things are on wheels and utilize simple safety devices like blocks to stop the wheels from rolling, maybe attached to a vehicle hitch that can be undone if the rig is unsupervised, a typical padlock that can be cut. A few minutes work to drag away the whole 'museum'. They take it someplace secure, discover a lot of fancy clothing that they quickly decide can't be black market pawned for easy cash and ditch everything but the trailer in an easy to dump location... even Airtags can do little more then keep a location on the empty trailer as it goes to some unsavory neighborhood for storage and planned sales.
This coming from a couple previously mentioned thefts concerning overnight trailers at cons and my experience with Trigger Happy and his trust in leaving his trailer at a rather shady parking spot. (He didn't lose a thing. Still, it felt like he should have.)
No. I would say that a traveling museum is extremely risky and bound to lose everything at any given moment.
Now, with the rise of VR and such... maybe a virtual museum. 3D scans of all the suits. It's a big compromise. And yet may be the balancing act for observable presentation vs. costs.
I am really getting fed up with texas and all of its bullshit!!! I am considering saying fuck it and retire, sell my houses here in texas and buy a hobby ranch in Oklahoma where as long as you are not in city limits they don't care much what you do within reason.
