I saw a critter yesterday
I was running a little late to work. Normally I leave for work at 7 am but was a few minutes late. When I came out the door, it is still very dark at this hour, I heard something push its way through the side fence. A bushy tailed cat ran out to the middle of the front yard and turned around to look at me then back toward the fence. It wasn't a cat though, it was a small gray fox. I looked back at the fence to see what was following. A large gray cat come through and stared the fox down. Foxy ran off. I mentioned this cause I live in a very suburban neighborhood, opossums and skunks sure but a gray fox was a pleasant surprise.
Especialy when you see the Porcupine before you kick it.
...and these weren't screw-tops neither, but big-ole Pre-Thanksgivings Day Parade goblers!
Anyway, there's a local Pill Hill around here where they were building new houses for Indian doctors and their ABCD children. I was there to look for rocks (where they'd excavated) and found this mag-knee-ficent bit of Cretaceous seafloor. I was dragging it back to my avtomobil when this flock of turkeys (no, not those guys, these were real turkeys) came out from around the half-finished house and started coming my way. I set the rock down and got my camera out, which can shoot short videos, and started filming them. They were pretty tame, relative to me, and went bug-hunting all the way around the house. This was in town in Fort Worth.
My sister n' me were walking near the place we rented a few years ago at dusk. A fox ran out of the bushes and across the road right in front of us. Good thing we weren't automobiles, or it'd be a flatfox.
But if you mean other critters. There is a black bear that frequents the woods nearby.
I seem to live in the rabies capital of VA, and have had to deal with rabid animals more than once.
