Commission Terms of Service
Since I've seen it come up recently in Facebook discussions, I think I should start spelling out terms of service for anyone choosing to commission me.
I do commissions as a hobby, I have a full-time job, so it's not like I do many commissions.
So I'll start with the most important points, just to have them here.
1. Copyrights: I retain the rights to my work, for the right to include it in my portfolio/albums.
The piece I do for you will NEVER be sold by me to anyone else. Your character is yours, and will always be acknowledged as such.
Of course you may post the piece I do for you in your own albums, but please credit me as the artist/don't claim the art is your own work.
2. You may ask me not to post your piece in my portfolio/albums. Please advise me of this when you first agree to commission me.
For a fee of $25, your piece will NEVER be posted publicly or displayed in any of my portfolios.
3. I accept payments via E-Transfer, PayPal, or cash in person.
Payments are due up front now. (You can thank a non-payer for that).
Previous commissioners who've established a trusted payment record may still keep the privilege of payment before/at delivery, for as long as they keep that trust.
I don't like doing this, as I know my work can take some time. But if I'm doing the work, I have the right to expect payment.
NOTE: I've been hearing that scams are on the rise, on both ends. I intend to do my part, and provide your art, even if it takes a while. If your funds do not clear (ie: "unauthorized funds" in PayPal) I will seek payment from you, and failing that, I keep messages and screenshots, and I WILL broadcast to high heaven if you scam me.
4. Deadlines: I work full-time. Anyone who knows me, knows my best work comes when I'm inspired, and that's not on a set schedule, though I don't like to keep someone waiting longer than necessary. If you have a specific deadline, please allow at least 2 weeks.
If your request is vague, that can add to the time it takes to nail down a design. The more specifics you have in mind, the faster it should come together.
I'll do my best to meet your needs and keep in contact with you on progress.
5. Prices:
$40 Canadian
Laminated badge, with clip, printed on photo paper usually within 5 x 7" size for a *trimmed to shape" badge, or about 4 x 6" for a "card style" badge(with basic background). Shipping is extra, based on postage rates. Check with me and I can get a rate for you.
$60 Canadian
Digital character portrait, simple background, colour, usually delivered by email or Dropbox
Add a second character for $20
6. Content: I don't draw penises. No graphic genitals, no gory violence, no vore at this time.
Images of intimacy, romance, kissing, yes I'm cool with that.
If you're still wondering, just ask me what you want, I'll tell you if I can do it. Artists can evolve after all. ;)
7. Trades: trades do happen, but very rarely, as money has more use to me.
Trades are based on the value of what's offered and therefore can vary. Therefore I would ask that a trade agreement not be advertised to others.
8. Terms and prices are subject to change, but any changes are only in effect once posted here.
