Hello, everyone!

It's been quite a wild year, hasn't it?

I've seen some of the best of what we can accomplish when we work together, and it'll only get better from here when we put our best foot forward and best effort into building this place and world into an ideal place that we wish to live.

I've been around the continent, I swear... Anthro New England, Furnal Equinox, Furry Weekend Atlanta, Furality, Furrydelphia, CozyCon, Midwest FurFest, and more to come; I've even got my eyes on Europe!

I'm grateful to everyone who calls me a friend, a fellow player in VRChat, and a compatriot in the real world.

This furry community has shown me some of the best of humanity, and I know it'll get even better.

Projekt: Festival 2024 is live!

On VRChat, the Projekt Community group hosts a massive showcasing of various groups throughout VRChat's many communities. From videographers to livestreamers, content creators, event hosts, gaming and social communities, roleplaying groups, Warhammer 40,000 combat groups, Avatar PvP groups, and a myriad of others, you'll find something for everyone here, at Projekt: Festival 2024!

This year, we have over a hundred booths, and most if not all of the events will be livestreamed over Twitch! A virtual reality headset is not required to attend!

The festival is free to attend, and will go from June 28-July 8! It will also include several livestreamed panels from coders, developers, assets makers, and content creators as part of Projekt: Ink, and a video showcase as part of Projekt: Lenz.

To join the action, simply join the Projekt: Community VRChat group, and then you can find all of the active instances. Go ahead and pop into the world! We even have a number of furry organizations there, from Tailbass to ProtoFox Network to the Furry Events Community and even Soaring Fitness and CozyCon!

CozyCon caters to all fandoms, is free to attend, and offers meets, panels, raves, and amazing worlds built from the ground up by Lilithe Lotor and her team. They also have real-world goods for sale!

Furality is hosting a Streamathon event right now to raise funding needed for Furality Umbra (June 6-9, 2024)!

The streamathon will go for 48 hours depending upon donations as a lighthearted and unserious broadcast of VRChat, games, and “Just Chatting."

Incentives and milestones will be announced on-stream and on the fundraising page as Furality progresses towards the goal.

For the swimming and diving enthusiasts, or for those who just need a quiet place to relax, the Aquatix Haven features a grand pool in the middle of a Greek or Roman-styled temple, with a working Udon Swim System. Over time, it will be refined and expanded, and its continued progress will help me hone my skills as I continue working on more worlds.

I have returned from Furry Weekend Atlanta 2023, albeit I got hit with COVID and was knocked back for about two weeks. Still, despite this, I had an awesome time at Furry Weekend Atlanta!

It was my first time going to the convention in-person, and I got the chance to meet and work with the Vibe Night and Furality teams, as well as shake the paws of people I had been raving and dancing with for the last two or three years for the first time. Setting up the Gateway and VRChat Meet were both massive undertakings, but the teams came together and we pulled off the amazing! The Furality and Vibe Night teams were like families I never knew I had.

That VRChat Meet had to have had over 1,000 people!

This speaks to the power of our platform, and how VRChat can bring us all together, especially when conventions embrace its capabilities. I hope more conventions adopt VRChat meet-and-greets and portals, for they can only bring benefit to the conventions, spread the good word of the conventions, and get more people interested in actually attending! FWA demonstrated to me how conventions south of New Jersey operate, and it was a truly unique experience.

The raves! My God, the raves were incredible! I stayed up way passed 0200 on Monday morning to hear Burutatsu personally! The man flew all the way from Germany to play for us, and WarneD1 was just phenomenal!

Wow!

2022: What a year! It's been mostly good, really. I haven't forgotten where I've come from, and what it took to get where I am now. I'm grateful for what I have, from my job to my friends to my family and those I love and appreciate. I'd be nothing without them.

2022...a year of new things for me. After being told by a team leader to avoid "spending so much time making a living that you spent no time making a life," I felt liberated. So...I did crazy stuff. I went to Asheville, North Carolina, for Blue Ridge Furfare, Toronto, Canada for Furnal Equinox (my first time in Canada ever, first time using Lyft, first time public suiting, first time in a fursuit parade), and even Las Vegas, Nevada, for DEF CON (I haven't been to Las Vegas in over twenty years!). I was part of the record-setting 15,079 people for Furality Aqua. I hosted my own Laserdome tournament alongside  Omgitburns. I became a moderator and contributor to several groups and organizations, including Tailbass and Vibe Night.

I've met so many amazing people, online and offline, and even met online friends in-person, no less!

All the raves, games, parties, events, and conventions I've been to have demonstrated to me how powerful and amazing we are as individuals, and as a furry fandom family. We can take on any challenge and tackle any hardship as long as we do it together.

Impossible is nothing!

My fursona has helped me build a better sense of myself and who I want to be. I hope to bring positivity to people, to spread the joy, fun, and excitement of everything that we do both online and offline, and bring people together. Every smile I see fills me with a sense that what we do is awesome, and it will get only better from here!

Awoo! Bring on 2023! I'll be ringing it in with open arms and a ready spirit!

I've upgraded myself! I now have a Valve Index with working hand trackers and base stations! We'll keep it coming with the good stuff and all the promotional materials from all the events I've been going to, which have been fun as hell!

There have been times when I've felt exhausted going through all my photos and I've even wondered if "it's worth it."

Then I'll get someone that comes up to me and thanks me for taking their picture...

...or finding themselves in one of my photos and going "Hey! That's me! :D"...

...or realizing that I've promoted their event without them knowing and they thank me heartily...

...or they use one of my screenshots to promote their set on Mixcloud...

...or they use a dozen of my screenshots at a presentation at a convention...

...and then I go "Yeah...it's worth every damn second!"

It was my first time overnight in North Carolina, and my first time going to Canada, using Lyft, public fursuit-walking, handling Canadian currency, the whole works!

I got to meet alot of people I'd been hanging out with only over VRChat, Discord, and Telegram, and to learn firsthand how conventions outside of the tri-state area operate, so this was as much of a learning experience as it was a chance to party and play with awesome people and fellow furs. I even brought the Furnal Equinox unofficial mascot, Badgie, to life!

This fandom is amazing and I'm really glad to be part of it!

Welcome to 2022...I think.

Looks like we've got some of the same old stuff happening this year, same as the last.

I'm optimistic for the future as best I can be. I know we've got a number of conventions that have already up and canceled. I'm holding out hope for the rest.

But we'll endure, we will prevail, and we'll enjoy ourselves no matter what gets in the way.

FurryDelphia 2021 was simply amazing! We smashed all our records from 2019, including for attendance and fundraising! Over 1,500 people and upwards of beyond $8,300 for charity!

The convention got off to a relatively smooth start. In the name of volunteering, I arrived early on Wednesday afternoon right from work. The drive was smooth. I bumped into  drayne_the_wolf as he and company were checking up on their rooms. When he expressed a need for staff, I immediately volunteered. I was accepted onto the IT team (considering I work in IT already, am certified, and I even possess a Top Secret security clearance), and I took care of the low-hanging fruit: running cables, setting up switches, wireless access points, and security cameras in the Dealers Den, driving to grab and buy lunch for the higher-level staff, doing inspection rounds, badge checks at certain locations, and the like. I figured I could handle the lower-end stuff while the higher-ups handle the more serious issues (so they don't have to waste their time on the lower-end jobs).

The convention was amazing! I got to rock my amazing fursuit around the convention and the raves (by  sarahcat - check her out! She's awesome!) and I got so many good compliments on it. Helping people was a real joy, even just to point out where the next panel was for convention-goers, and I even got praise for it on a convention-goer's Twitter!

I was duly honored for my services, and I was appreciative of every opportunity.

We'll be at the Sheraton next year, and I'm looking forward to climbing the Rocky Steps at the Philadelphia Art Museum in suit!

I got the chance to spend the whole weekend at Furality Luma, and it was an absolute blast! Lots of music, dancing, great people, and fun to be had!

We had almost 7,000 attendees and raised over $14,000 for Save-A-Fox Rescue! When it was all said and done, people cried and cried, and so did I. I'm not sure what it was...definitely the beautiful music had something to do with it...but...post-con depression just hit me like a train...even for days afterward, even now.

Still, it was a fabulous convention and I encourage everyone to check it out!

Things are good so far. I'm eager for Furality Online Experience this weekend, Virtual Biggest Little Fur Con, AnthroCon, and FurryDelphia!

Although adjusting to having an in-person social life feels weird. I'll be going to our upcoming furbowls and our latest arcade gathering was very successful.

I'm excited for what the future holds! And I'm glad to be back in the swing of things!

My birthday is on May 4th...Wonder what I should do...

I definitely feel like I should do something this year!

Otherwise, I'm getting a VR headset and body tracker system for it, too. I was leaning towards the Quest 2...but more research is required...

I'm also hoping to find a VR headset that is compatible with as many VRChat and ErosVR rooms and avatars as possible, while also incorporating good full-body tracking.

I'm open to ideas.

Most of the conventions from 2019 to 2021 have been posted! I'll be using PostyBirb to automatically post the imagery to here as it is alot more convenience, time-saving, and efficient than trying to do it manually. In the interest of flood protection compliance, I've spaced out the submissions by 4 minutes apiece. Each will be tagged and they'll be categorized as the process is completed.

I had the opportunity to attend Furnal Equinox 2021 "Pixel Purrfect" this weekend, and it was an absolute blast!

We gathered over Discord and VrChat, played games, had fun with people, listened to some amazing music, and learned alot from some enlightening panels.

Many attendants remarked that it felt like a real convention and was on level with and even surpassed the Furality Online Experience (no disrespect, of course, because Furality is also amazing)!

I'm eager to keep going to conventions, both virtual and in-person!

Likewise, I'll be posting some screenshots that I took throughout my time in the virtual world.

It seems coronavirus has no limits.

I lost my job in January...and scored a contract job 5 weeks later...only to lose that one because the contracting firm which hired the contractor group decided they hired too many agents and axed the lot of them.

I was one of them.

So...it's back to hunting...again...

At Furality Online Experience, today's guest, a voice actor named Sean Chiplock, gave an absolutely outstanding answer during an ask-me-anything for how to address oneself as part of the furry fandom:

Address yourself with confidence, not embarrassment, and it won't give people an opportunity to shame you

So the next time someone asks what you did this weekend, you go "i attended a furry convention called [this]. We had awesome panels, parties, there was great music, and I met some really amazing people and got to see them show off their really cool stuff!"
