Sad day for the wolf
Posted 12 years agoToday is a very sad day for this wolf, I kitty Frosty had contracted a baddler ubstruction which was developing into a very bad infection. He was 17 so the decision was made to put him to sleep. I'm going to miss him sleeping on my lap whenever I come home to see my parents. Rest in Peace Frosty
Perth Zoo Trip
Posted 12 years agoWell, Western Power switched off all the power at home this morning so they could install a new pole across the road. Since it was a nice day out and in order to avoid furry madness my housemate and I headed out to the Perth Zoo for the afternoon. Many, many pictures were taken and I've already uploaded some of them, more to come tomorrow after I've had a chance to sort a few. Anyway by the time we got home the power was back on, so our plan to keep occupied worked with great success.
Perth Wolf in Melbourne
Posted 14 years agoHeya to anyfurs around Melbourne, I'm in Melbourne doing my simulator training for work and Ihave Sunday and Wednesday off from training. So if anyone is feeling like getting together for some hang out time that would be cool. Anyway PM me for contact details and where I'm staying.
Resigned
Posted 14 years agoWell it's now official I has resigned from my job teaching aviation. My last day at work will be the 13th of March, then I'm on leave for a couple weeks. And after that I have a few days of being unemployed. Then I start my ground school for my new job as a first officer on one of these things,http://www.airliners.net/photo/Qant.....24f3dcbd05ad40 , wolf is very excited and has lots of studying to do. The new job means more zoom, and every wolf needs more zoom :)
Happy Birthday to Me
Posted 14 years agoWell I'm one more year older, probably not that much wiser, but wisdom can be over rated. Anyway it's a nice warm summer here in Perth and I'm not having to deal with the floods back in Qld, so life is good. Is going to be a slow day at work today.

FC Wrap-up
Posted 15 years agoYeah I know it's a little late but meh, it's my journal.
FC wrap-up: Well the con was good fun again this year, although FNL was much shorter than last year. The new con hotel, well I’ve had mixed reports about that. Personally I didn’t have any trouble with the hotel staff or the level of service, but I must say that parking charges for the con were really pricey, with no breaks given to the con attendees. The fursuit parade was awesome to watch and I got some neat video, however a slight screw-up in the schedule saw the fursuiters having a hard time. I got some great art commissions done in my sketch book, and a great new con-badge by Marci. So here’s looking forward to hopefully attending next year.

Arrived in California
Posted 15 years agoWell the flight from Sydney to LAX went about as well as 13 hr flights can go, just happened to be on Qantas' newest Airbus 380, and as usual I didn't get much sleep. So arrived at LAX feeling rather tired. Anyway went down and cleared through Immigration and Customs without any hastle. I forgot how long of a walk it is between terminal 4 and terminal 1. Arrived at terminal 1 to find that due to a slight problem with the check-in kiosk things and the arrival in LA of 3 cruise ships, the line for check-in was a little on the long side. Well actually it went all the way back through the zig-zag thingy then back out of the door and past the end of the terminal. So I'm glad that I built in as much extra time as I did otherwise I might have missed my flight.
So the flight up to Sacramento departed on-time, which was nice. The flight was good, although I didn't manage to get any sleep again. Then arrived into Sacramento to find that it had been raining. Nice considering I haven't seen much rain in the last few months.
All in all it was a good trip and now that I'm here it should be a lot of fun

Leg 1 of FC trip complete
Posted 15 years agoWell the flight to Sydney was nice and uneventful, I even managed to get a couple hours of sleep. Not surprising given how long I'd been up before that. Anyway I'm sitting in the international terminal at Kingsford Smith airport looking out at the big and shiney Airbus A380 that's gonna take me to LA. 13 and a half hrs flight time...hopefully more sleep.
Journy to FC begins
Posted 15 years agoWell it's half past four in the morning and I'm sitting at the local domestic terminal ready to embark on the first leg on my FC trip this year. The first leg is about 4 hrs from one side of Aus to the other, then I have to change terminals and airplanes before setting off on the longest leg of the trip to LA. More updates from Sydney...
Aussie Humor
Posted 15 years agoNow this is an older piece but it is a great example of Aussie humor. For all the American furs you might not understand some of this.

Stuff
Posted 15 years agoWell it's been a long time since I actually posted a Journal so I figured that it was time for a catch up in what's been happening in the life of this wuff.
For a start I've moved from my old address in South Perth...all those who are interested in knowing the new one please PM me for it. Work is running along pretty smoothly for the most part, although the weather of late has been keeping use grounded alot. In other news from work I was suspended from flying duties for four weeks during an investigation into a little incident I had at work. Nothing too serious and I won't bore you non-aviation nuts with details, but I'm back to flying now and that's all that matters.
I've managed to get mostly caught up on my Thursday Prompt posts, but I still have a couple of very late enters that need finishing.
I managed to attend Rivfur this year (annual furry get together in Brisbane AUS) it was a great time, catching up with lots of old friends and meeting some new furs. I had great fun driving the furry bus with
Bingo for a few days...know I remember why I always hated driving in Brissy.
Anyway I'm still trying to get a fursuit together before FC in Jan (fingers crossed)
Well I'll wrap this up before it becomes too much of a ramble
hugs to all

Jeep goodness
Posted 16 years agoWell after waiting in line for nearly 2 hrs I finally got my Jeep inspected by the Department of Transport. I had been dreading the inspection all weekend but it turned out to be rather painless. The guy just took the initial report and went through it to check all the faults had been corrected and then said that it was all good and that he'd go and finalize the papers for me. Then after a quick dash home to get a few missing bits of paper, it was off to another licensing center to get the rego done. Now I has a fully working and registered CJ 7 in Western Australia.
I owe many hugs, and cookies to
whyteyote for getting my little Jeep onto the ship back in California for me.

New bits and pieces
Posted 16 years ago*grins happily* Well about half of the new bits for my little CJ 7 arrived yesterday morning. Seven boxes containing stuff that will keep me occupied for at least a weekend putting everything in place. And the last half of my stuff should arrive either tomorrow or the start of next week. So I is a very happy wolf.
Stuff
Posted 16 years agoWell it's good to see that FA is finally back up, and I again have a good reason to look forward to coming home at the end of the day Anyway just a bit of an update for peoples. I finally have my Jeep over here and I'm working on getting it registered in Western Australia, but you wouldn't believe what a fur has to go through to get such a simple thing done (unless you've had to register a car in West Aus, then you know what I'm talking about). Well pretty much everything has been done and I just have one last little piece of paper to get before I confront the peoples down at Department of Primary Industry for an inspection. I'll be posting a few pictures so you all can see some of the changes that have been made.
In other news I have an interview for a new job next week, I think, and hopefully all will go well with that.
Anyway that about covers things for this wolf.
*much hugs to everyone*

Cross Posted from LJ (FC trip wrap-up Part 2)
Posted 17 years agoOk so getting into Singapore at about 1am means that the place is nearly dead. Met a couple guys that had been on my flight from LA and got to talking with them, we ended up having tea and muffins at one of the food places that is open 24hrs here. So after much talking of politics and bullshit I introduced them to 2 the Ranting Gryphon with his rant on America. Both of them demanded to know his website and both nearly pissed themselves laughing. So after a quick round on the free broadband terminals here they knew what they wanted to and one guy sent the URL to his mates back in the USA. After that we looked at the huge collection of giant Lego stuff including a wind turbine (sorry no camera for a picture). After that we went upstairs and got in some time on one of the several free LAN machines that they have running. I played some BF 2 and Medal of Honour before saying good-bye and heading back over to my terminal to see about checking in. As it turns out there were plenty of seats available so they just checked me in, handed me a boarding pass and said have a nice day sir. So then I snagged some breakfast at one of the numerous cafes here and waited for a bit before heading over to my gate. Well in another 5 hours I’ll be back in Australia and require a massive nap to get some descent sleep.
So now that I’m back in Australia I can say that it was a great trip and I’m certainly looking forward to next year when I can do it again, maybe minus Disneyland, but certainly pretty much everything else. And before I can get back to work I have to get over this lovely little cold that I picked up while I was in LA, ehh I was due for one I guess.

Cross posted from LJ (FC trip wrap-up Part 1)
Posted 17 years agoOk so this is the first part of my holiday trip wrap-up. All in all it was a really great trip, though I didn’t get to spend as much time with a few furs as I would have liked. I had a great time at FC, going to panels, watching furry game shows, and comedy acts. Though some of the funniest things where definitely not planned. I got to catch up with a few old friends that I hadn’t seen in a while and made plenty of new ones.
After finishing up at FC it was back up to Sacramento and boy did it rain for a few of those days. Anyway had a nice time celebrating the Birthdays of two of my best mates. I got to hang out with Whyte at his work for most of the day on the day I had to fly down to LA. That was a lot of fun, I think I managed to talk his boss into looking at a mining job down in WA. Anyway his boss and his other workmate were both great blokes, so fun was had by all.
After I got to LA and got settled at my hotel I met up with Waggs Wolf, Rainhopper Roo, and their other flatmate for dinner. The next day Waggs and I headed over to Disneyland and had a great time going on rides together. After that it was back to the hotel for a little bit before Waggs headed home and we both got some sleep. Went back to Disneyland the next day on my own for the morning and went on a few rides that we had missed out on the previous day.
After a morning of that it was off to a fur meet for a bit before heading off to LAX, Waggs drove, when he picked me up from the hotel he brought Snow, his Husky, she is absolutely gorgeous and she had the two bell attendants fawning over her. After a brief stop at the fur meet we drove down to LAX and I said good-bye to Waggs and went to wait for my stand-by flight. As luck would have it the flight was full and the next flight, after waiting another few hours was up to maximum weight.
So after being told that I would have to come back the next morning to try and get on the next flight. After a quick phone call to Waggs, I ended up back at their house and spent the night cuddling with wuff and snow (who at some point during the night decided my feet would make a good pillow and flopped). The next morning it was back to the airport and managed to get straight onto the flight without a wait. On the flight back to Singapore we took a slight planned detour to Tokyo with an hour layover before heading off to Singapore. I don’t remember much about that flight since I slept for most of it.
