Dragoneer's Passing
Posted 8 months agoI can still feel the shock of learning of Dragoneer passing away right now. My present would have been remarkably different if it wasn't for him. I got to connect with lots of wonderful individuals, shared my love for art through this site, and made a tiny faction of it my home. All of this would not have been possible if it weren't for Dragoneer who took FA in his wings, and now those wings are gone.
Ding! Time for Birthday Cake!
Posted 12 months agoIt's that time again, blowing candles, making a wish, and taking bites of my delicious birthday cake! This tends to be quite the transformative experience for me, and I hope this year will continue to be a positive and transformative one for everyone too! ^.^
Past 100,000 Page Views!
Posted a year agoWhile staying up far too late than I should, I noticed that I passed 100k views on my FA page which for me is a moment worth celebrating about with a journal. I want to thank everyone for being so interested in my small corner here on FA. At the end of this month, it'll be 17 years that I've been on here, and I look forward to being around 17 more years if only to see if that amount doubles to 200k. ^.^
Birthday Celebration~
Posted 2 years agoTime just flies now for me. I swear it felt not long ago that I had put up a journal here, and yet it's been approaching two years now. I hope I've brought some enjoyment with the art that I have commissioned even if they haven't been posted here. :p
What Should I Put on my Profile?
Posted 4 years agoSo, I've started to look around other people's profiles a bit more to see what makes a good profile on FA, but I want to know what other people think as well. I have FA's BBCode and color palette on reference, but want to ask a question.
What kind of information would you like to see on my FA?
I've already started to have a shout out to my friends, but only having a limit of 30 icons means if I want other icons that show the subgroups and communities I associate with, I'm going to need to start removing others.
I'm really open to suggestions and ideas, so please let me know, especially if you're willing to references to your FA profile with what works well for you!

Birthday Today!
Posted 4 years agoYet another candle on the cake! I got the first dose of my vaccine this morning, and I'm feeling well too! I'm hoping whatever side-effects that may creep up will be mild, but so far so good! ^.^
Looking back since my last birthday, I see how fortunate I have been to have such caring friends while making a few more along the way. I've been able to do what I could to raise spirits and bring a bit of joy in the lives around me, though I am very aware that I've well exceeded my Dunbar's number with how I lose touch with people that I know. It is like trying to hold onto a flow of relationships and friendships, feeling them slip further and further away until they roll off your fingers while others slide from your palm unnoticed. All I can do hope they are doing well and becoming better, with or without me. At least, it does lead to the opportunity later on in the form of reconnecting and that can be a lot of fun.
Anyways, my favorite way to bring some fun is in the form of commissioned artworks with and for them. In fact, there is one in particular I have in mind whose graduation is coming up. I haven't been able to attend these kind of events in person, but that doesn't mean I can't give them something to help remember the occasion by.
Speaking about not being able to attend events, being responsible during a pandemic has made me appreciate many of the small activities that I have grown used to before, from early morning jogs to having meals and/or drinks with friends. Fortunately, I've started to reintroduce more of those activities back in my life, and I'll definitely be doing more of it once I get my second dose. I look forward to getting more of my healthy habits back on track. I'll say, having the internet to tide me over during these trying times really help me retain what is left of my sanity. :p
Enough of my life's rambling. You there reading this, be sure to share some of your fun around and/or make some of your own while dragging everyone else into it as well. I know I have, and I intend to get into many more shenanigans too. ^.~

Staying Healthy and Somewhat Sane
Posted 5 years agoLife has been difficult and challenging for myself and many I know. The isolation and caution that I am enduring is one that I know others are also facing.
I know that without the internet, I'm viable to lose my mind in the volumes of books that I would be scrounging up to keep my intellectual curiosity in check. I find myself spending more time with an adjacent monitor on Youtube while telegram and discord has been my go to for keeping connected. I've also found time to play games like Final Fantasy XIV with Rensa, Elder Scrolls Online with Tiana, and an assortment of various games with Haurbus. Definitely check all three of them if you're interested in Transformation Art like me.
Of course, this gives me no excuse not uploading the artwork I've accumulated too, and while I have been in a bit of a funk when it comes to putting my story ideas and snippets into words, I will make that effort to push out little tales with the artwork I have. At least seven uploads for this week is my goal starting, starting with a transformation artwork crafted by Angrboda that was a birthday gift from Dax.
It's good to set up goals and objectives, so try doing a few new ones yourself if find yourself getting bored and/or going stir crazy. ^.~

Posted 5 years agoI'm thrilled to post my 'Into the Pumpkin Patch' comic I've held onto eight months, but if you already follow Endium you would have totally seens this awhile ago. Be sure to follow the various artist I commission if you like the content I commission, because heaven knows they post it on their page faster than I do! :p
Now, I wish you all the best and fun Halloween tonight or else... you might find yourself joining the pumpkin patch!

So Much Artwork in the Pipe
Posted 6 years agoEvery so often, roughly every like two to three months, I go out and commission a whole load of artwork. Anywhere from five to ten commissions at a time. A few of which are sequences and comic, and then wait for them to come back. Every so often I'll pick up some story commissions too. Now if only I stop to actually post them onto my FA...
On the bright side of things, I did get my money back in full from the artist who misappropriated another artist's work. I've offered the original artist the money to see if I can gain the rights of the derivative, but no reply so it'll have to stay in limbo.

Misappropriation of Artwork
Posted 6 years agoI was put on noticed, by another art commissioner, that an artwork I commissioned had been traced from their commissioned artwork. I compared the two artworks and had an artist who I have come to trust, Artemis, to give me their input as well. My conclusion was the claim of tracing had merit. I was gravely disappointed, silently furious, and had to confront the artist.
Unfortunately, the artist has disabled their FA and deleted all of their artwork. Said artist was running away from their culpability and responsibility, and after my head cooled, I took stock on another issue. I commissioned a total of 6 artworks from this artist, and after the claim, I went through doing due diligence in ensuring that no other artworks I received from the artist are based on traced art. So far, I haven't found any close matches. However, the internet is a big place, and I am just one person who is left deciding whether to pull all of their artworks on my end. It is a real shame because they are all appealing artworks, and a few inspired me to create meaningful context with my characters.
On another front, I am in the process of getting my money back for that one particular artwork. I won't do this for the other artworks until I can reasonably match them to other works, but I am left feeling uncomfortably uncertain whether the five others are also traced.
Definite shout out for
theeldertrinity for helping me with this. Go check her stuff out, especially if you're into transformation like I am. Thanks Artemis!

Delicious Turkey Day
Posted 6 years agoHave a wonderful Thanksgiving! I have a lot to be thankful for towards all my friends who have been so supportive of me during my difficult and trying moments, especially as of recent. Know that you have a fox in your backpack, pokeball, tamagachi, or wherever ready and all too happy to spring into action! Just be sure to give a few pokes in case of naps!
I've been needing to keep up my uploads still. It has been quite the lengthy process where it takes a lot of time writing up even the simplest details in the description. As for the longer ones, I'll admit I came up with on many of them on the spot with only a few which I've written down beforehand. I generally can imagine up a plot, setting, and situation to frame the artwork in like a shapshot in a story and go from there. Still, it does take time and distractions can switch me from writing mode into editing mode before I've completed the short tale. This is because I'm brought out of the imaginary scene and need to read back into it, where then I start to see better ways to word or structure what I've written. This ends up taking even more time since I should do that after I finish rather than looping into editing mode.
I really enjoy spending my time writing though, and it is one of those creative outlets beyond my day-to-day. Once I get things sorted, I plan on writing more with many of my commissioned artworks. I'm eager to really start on several comics and sequences. Until then, nom on plenty of turkey!

Happy TFy Halloween!
Posted 6 years agoHave a wonderful Halloween everyone! Since I can't share candy with you all, I'm going to buckle down and upload some treats in the form of artworks I commissioned! Most of them are transformative in nature. :p
I do enjoy adding in some context to the artwork to help set the scene and give my perspective on them. Sometimes they're really short giving a glimpse into the thoughts and personalities of my characters. Others are scene setters that leads up to what happens. The rest tend to be describing the scene itself into further detail.
It does generally take me awhile to get it all the details down and upload too, so I really hope you enjoy the descriptions that I put into it. Let me know if there are things I can do better with my writing, and if you have ideas that you'd like to share with me, I'd be happy to hear you out too. ^.^

Yet Another Storm Passing Through
Posted 6 years agoThe remnants of Hurricane Michael is passing through my area now. It has been downgraded to a tropical storm, but I have already experienced brief blackouts while uploading and writing a short story in the descriptions. Fortunately, no story progress was lost on my uploads. I'm still a bit cautious though and want to make this journal in case if something does happen which lands me without power or net. This way everyone I've commissioned can see from here that things might have gone awry on my end. Otherwise, I'm gonna stay safe and help out when I can with those around me. Will update this later once it completely passes through! :3
Update:
All's good on my end! Pretty much had some fallen branches here and there, but nothing that I had to be concerned of. ^.^

Hurricane Florence
Posted 6 years agoSince I'm in Greenville, NC, I'm right in the path of the giant, rotating cloud swarm just about where it is expected to make landfall on Thursday, September 13, 2018. A catagory 4 is going to be really rough, and I'm fortunate to have the supplies currently with me to weather through about a month worth of isolation. I'm been through many hurricanes in my life, the worst being Fran in '96 and that was a cat 3, and at the time I was further inland.
I will be weathering this out in my small apartment here. I'm expecting to lose power for quite sometime, so I want to make sure everyone knows where I've gone off to during this time period. I'm going to send out a messages, notes, and/or emails to the various artists and writers that are still doing commissions for me about my predicament. This is probably the best time as any before the storm for me to upload more arts too. :p
Anyways, I'll catch you all later! Hopefully not much more great swirly cloud plumes will be flinging themselves across the Atlantic to my humble abode after this, but I'll be prepared if they do! ^.^
Update
So far, I haven't lost power nor net. It is still raining a lot as of current this Saturday, September 15, but the winds are significantly calmer and the only potential threat on my end is flooding. Florence is moving at a snail's pace so many places are still being kept closed until the sky becomes clear.
Thanks to all of you that touched basis with me during this, and many of you having faith in my well-being too. Things got a bit hectic during the Thursday night when the wind kept me up, but other than some missed sleep, I weathered through as if it were just like any other storm. Going to need to touch basis on others I know in the harder hit areas like New Bern further south. The entire town is underwater there, and I'm wanting to run some aid and relief there. Myself and others around me has extra stocked up supplies since this area weren't as hard hit, so it's best to give what we have to those that need it down there.

Back Home from BLFC
Posted 7 years agoFor my first furry convention, it was a complete blast! I got to meet up with many friends of mine there. I was rooming at the Grand Sierra Resort with these long time Therians I've known for about a decade now:
wolfmage
wolf-shaman
Wolfshaman in particular who I met in person before brought the booze that was waiting for him and me to share for nearly 4 years now. It was all gone by the end. I got to meet Mage for the first time though, and I totally agree with him going from wolf to a badger in recent months. As growly and grumpy he can be, he knows how to be silly as heck, especially when he wore Wolfshaman's suit as a partial for kicks. :p
From there, I got to meet up with more of my friends I've known and meet in SL nearly as long back:
BlazeWiles
TeronWarfang
I finally got to meet Blaze in person for the first time too, and the promise of hugs from the kitsune was kept. This meeting up was in the years in the making, since I missed out going to the passed BLFCs.
The last time I meet Teron was in California about 6 years back. He's become such a feather brain for avians since then to which I must admit I did of started him down that road with all the TF's shenanigans we got into. He's totally has it in for me into turning my character into a bird. More than I'm willing to admit at times. xD
Next, I met up with a lot of guys I've known from SL including:
FirefoxInc
Lance_Foxx
BurrWolf
We played silly party games together, and Burr in particular showed me many of the things I was missing out on SL since I'm barely there anymore. Those helicopters were really sweet! I helped out when I could with suiting up, particularly with Blaze. They really filled out the time with a lot of fun that I otherwise would have had for downtime in between meeting up with others I know, going off to panels/events, and shopping around at the dealers den. Not to mention the great meal we all had at BJ's together!
A particular pair that I’ve planned with them on meeting up was...
Ailith
NekoGato
I brought Blaze along since that was a moment when the crimson kitsune didn't have much else to do and was hungry, and both Ailith and NekoGato were nice to let me bring Blaze along too. We met up for dinner at Rim's where I scheduled an appointment for a table right at the last hour, and we got into a great series of conversations there along with good food! I was brimming with excitement when I picked up my badge from Ailith there along with some traditional art that I commissioned too. We were all big fans of TF, and I'm both thrilled and glad that we had a conversation about Tfs and art too, and getting to see one another's interest in both. Looking forward to chatting up with NekoGato some more of the doggo stories he plans in commissioning, and coming up with fun, amusing plots for Ailith to art. ^.^
Ironically, the next night over for dinner I met with...
Scarlett_V
Leila_Snowpaw
Both of them I knew from here, FA, and figured that since we were all going to BLFC, why not just spend some time in meeting up, and that's what we did at Rim's. It goes to show how much I really liked that place there when I wanted to try out the pork version of the same dish, Bulgogi, I order the previously. I could really tell these two were heads over heels for one another, and they really dominated the majority of conversation to which I was more than happy to listen in on. I didn't have it in me to say much at the time either due to being the last night of the convention and fatigue really started to set in for me after staying up several nights for drinking and whatnot. I did find it quite amusing with how Leila in particular order Scarlett a mystery drink for them to share. Fortunately, they both enjoyed it, and I was tempted in ordering myself one as well! Though, I had my ginger margarita to get through, which paired well in cleaning my taste palette for the sushi I had on the side. I was really interested in how the Sharktooth fever idea came about, and I'll say how Scarlett came up with it had a rather humble beginning to it. I did promise Leila in getting into Overwatch again and have some games together too, so I'll totally make good on that... once I get it installed and get enough games in so I don't embarrass myself. Also, Scarlett, I still think you're a mastermind of TF plots. :p
There was a lot more I can say that went on about the convention, at the dealers den and the panels/events, and all those I met in along the way. The shopping around and conversations I had with SwampRat, getting to meet up with Forepawz at the impromptu TF meet, my terrible luck with the dice, and all of the jaw-dropping fursuits I saw. OMG, I can see why it is so common to get bitten by the fursuit bug at a furry convention. I'm just glad I was able to help out her and their as a fur-suit handler. Also, did anyone notice how all the Caribou furs are like 7+ ft tall :p
This was a hell of an awesome experience for me, so much so that after coming back home, I did feel that after-con gloom settle in for a few days, but fortunately with great friends, support, and other stuff that I had to do back home, I picked up right out of it. Definitely loads of thanks for everyone who was there. You all really brought about that awe-inspiring ambience to BLFC and my first fur-con. ^.^

WIP in Scraps
Posted 7 years agoAlright! I'm going to start using scraps to post WIP commissions (both current and old) with my thoughts on the direction and plot in my mind for them. I know that I'm holding onto far too many artworks that I've been wanting to write up some scene setters in the description to give 'em context, and that I've wanted to show the WIPs and get other peoples thoughts on them as well while it is in progress. I find it really enjoyable to see an artwork go through the phases of coming together, so I mind as well go through the motions of sharing that here too!
More TF Artwork, Posting Soon
Posted 7 years agoRather ominous, yes? Good! I figure if I make a public post that I'll do something soon, it'll get my butt into gear to start doing it or risk public shaming! So to you all that are watching me, you have been and will be helping to keep me to my word. ^.^
Edit: Just passed 20k page visits with my recent posts! You're all awesome! :3

Issue with a YCH Auction
Posted 7 years agoJust recently, I lost out on an ych auction. It was a two character ych which a friend of mine and I were bidding on. I was bidding on slot #2, and my friend on slot #1. So naturally I submit my comment appropriately as "SB" on slot #2.
Things got interesting when I got outbid on slot #2, but the person who outbid me put in the wrong amount. The starting bid was $40, but the person bid $35 on the comment below mine. This person tried to snipe my bid within the last hour of the auction with an invalid amount.
This same person decided to try to bid snipe my friend on slot #1, and the rules stated that there would be a 15 minute extension when this occurs within the last 15 minutes of the auction. Several bids occur between my friend and the other person, but soon it goes above the amount he's willing to spend. My friend lets me know he's backing out, and I decide to try to pick up slot #1. The auction ends with me having the highest bid on Slot #1, and the person's invalid bid on Slot #2.
I had thought I won both slots. However, the artist makes the mistake thinking the other's person bid on slot #2 was legitimate, when it was invalid and below the threshold of the starting bid that I had made. Payment was sent to the artist from this other person, and it wasn't until I let the artist know about the bid being invalid, that the artist realized what happened.
So the artist gave a decision to the other person. Make up the difference of $10 (which would have been the appropriate bid) and keep slot #2 or get refunded the amount and forfeit slot #2. The person decides the former.
Now I am left with slot #1. The issue is that I only wanted slot #1 because I had slot #2. I let the artist know this and wished to retract my bid on slot #1, which meant this other person won both slots.
I am bitter about this, because the mistakes on other people's part have left me with a missed opportunity for the ych through no fault of my own. I can't help but to see the artist decision to allow the other person to make up the difference and keep the slot as being wrong, as I was left with no opportunity to have increased my bid on that slot, which I would have if given the choice.
Yeah, I'm annoyed and wanting to vent a bit, but I'd like to hear from you on what I could have done to make things different.
