tips on fighting depression and anxiety?
Posted 12 years agoI would appreciate any tips and help I can get.
I feel bad about trying to get others involved in my drama, and I've played the part of a needy, whiny outcast a lot when I was younger, and I don't want to do that anymore.
I've just been a little on the moody, depressed side lately.
I've been to a therapist already, though with my very tiny amount of cash I couldn't afford a great doctor and the one that I've been seeing seems a bit on the unreliable side. I'm probably going to stop seeing her soon.
I just wanted to try and talk to people who may have had similar problems and have ways that they've tried to help themselves cope, or those who know others that are/used to be like this and know how to help.
I've been studying up on natural herbs and meditation, and taking on less stressful hobbies to try and keep my thoughts from drifting into an insane, over-emotional state. I don't really see these working at all and I'm desperate for more options.Join.me Stream - $10 Quick Commissions

I'm probably going to get a promotion at work. Most likely not happening but it's been talked about. Apparently a representative from our company's corporate office came by in 'disguise' to shop at our store while I was working. As my team leader said; I offered the person "amazing and stellar" service and was super nice, offering to carry things and talking to them about their day.
I still don't know who it is that talked about me. Honestly, I do that with everyone. It's not that hard to be nice to people, I just don't let things bother me.
Anyway, a compliment from corporate is a big deal I guess, not counting the 7 compliment cards I got handed to me today from the tax free weekend tidal wave of people and the managers that have told me I work hard and I'm doing good.
It's a proud day for me! Though, really, I wish people wouldn't make a big deal about me doing my job. It's my job and if I was lazy I wouldn't get paid as much and I like-a da moolah ok so I work.

I may also have a malignant tumor on my face. It's a green mass under my skin where the jaw meets the bottom of the earlobe. It hurts when I touch it, and it causes weird reactions when it's moved; a slight dull pain in my cheek down to my jaw, nausea, dizziness, lethargy, and headaches if I play around with it too much. Apparently those reactions are being controlled by a small cluster of nerves under the cyst, making them twinge when it moves or is moved.
I had it checked out 2 years ago when I first noticed it. It was smaller and pink then, and the doctor told me it was probably just a ganglion cyst; a harmless little thing that could disappear at any time. I had forgotten about it until a month ago when I noticed it had doubled in size and turned a weird black-green color. I probably should have noticed it sooner, especially with all the weird symptoms it was giving me.
I find out what it is now and what it'll take to fix me Thursday. There's a small chance I could have something that could cause me harm for a while but hopefully what they're telling me is true, and I have a good chance of getting out of this unscathed.

My mom called me around 3:00 pm and told me I got something in the mail. I thought it was a print that I ordered a while back but she said, "No, it's a little dog.. thing. It's laminated and it says firefeathers on the back." I literally started screaming in the phone and squealed and rolled around on my friend's bed and told her I was coming to get it right away.

Posted 13 years agoWhen I smile, open my mouth too wide or laugh I get intense pains shooting through my upper jaw. I need some cash within the next few days to help pay for a tooth extraction. @n@ My appointment is Thursday and I need to hand them $250 up front for them to even consider doing surgery on my mouth. I only have about $110 in my account which is making me freak out 'cause I don't get paid for another 2 weeks and I really want this tooth gone.
I'll be taking as many slots as I can before my appointment, hopefully if I get enough requests before Thursday I won't have to borrow from my mom and/or the bank. I set my minimum amount of slots to 5 so I can at least pay for half of my initial bill, but that doesn't mean I only have 5 open, I'll take as many as I can handle.

i can't eat right anymore..

I've been having problems with eating lately and I don't know what's causing it, but I think I have an idea.
I haven't been able to get myself to eat much lately, and I'm losing weight too fast. When I try to force myself to eat I just hurl it back up, and when I think of food I get nauseous and have no desire to eat. I've dropped from 176 to 137 in just a few months. It's slowly getting worse and I keep losing weight faster as time passes.
I've also been really dizzy and keep getting black spots in my vision, and ringing in my ears. I've been sleeping in between 30 mins to 4/5 hours every night (not by choice), and its starting to wear me down. When I go too long without sleep I start having mild hallucinations.
I've been to the doctor but he said that I'm fine, my blood work and urine test came back fine, apparently.
I don't think I'm supposed to see my veins close to my skin or have them pop up all over the back of my hands and tops of my feet either.

Sticker Update - Progress is Slow
Posted 13 years agoI've only gotten a few orders for stickers so far, and I haven't been able to print yet because of an issue with traveling. I don't have near enough money to make it everywhere I need to go with the little gas I have left.
Since I quit my job and found another, I'm in a tiny little rut of time where I won't have much money until my check is mailed to me for my last week of pay from my old job. I don't have anything else to do besides draw, so I've completed the orders and my original example sheets already.
Stickers should be printed by the 29th and ready to go. I've already got all the materials I'll need, I just need to make it out to my aunt's house to run some quality tests on the printer. I don't want the lines or color to come out faded or blurry/sketchy, since I'm hoping to make a profit from these.
So far I've thought about the cost of making these - it's not cheap with the cost of not only the paper, the shipping, and the envelopes; but also the ink for the printer when it runs out and the amount of money I'll be using for transit from the location of the printer to my home and then to the post office. Overall the amount of money I'll be investing into this - and already have is nothing to sniff at; especially with a job that only offers part-time and with bills to pay.
I really want to do this, though; I won't go into sob-story details but there's been a lot happening to me over the past year and a half, and I need a hobby that'll keep me interested and happy. I think I found what I'll be happy doing and I don't want to give that up yet.
Would anyone be interested...? (Custom Stickers)
Posted 13 years agoAlright, I'm starting to shape this plan into something cool and I'd like to get some input on this. I know I don't have many followers, even less that actually read journals, but I'd still like some feedback if you have time.
For the next few months I'm going to be making custom sticker sheets. I took a risk and ordered some (rather expensive) professional white vinyl and laminating sheets.
Each vinyl sheet is sized the same as regular copy paper (8.5 in x 11 in). I will be offering a ton of options for the stickers, so you can pick and choose to suit your price range and tastes.
I haven't gotten the vinyl yet, so I can't tell you much about it at the moment, but I have gotten a lot of stuff figured out about what I want to do.
I'll also need some help and advice about pricing when I get the examples ready. >n<;
I'm working on setting up to do this right now, so within the next few days I should have everything finished, but for now sticker commissions are on hold and my shop and blog are in the works.
But! You can still check them out, and if you're interested and want to be notified of changes and progress, I'll add you to a list. ^^
Please help to spread the word - tell your friends! I need all the advertising I can get, haha.

What I know/can do so far:
I only ordered 10 sheets to start me out, since I figured if I test how it works by using 1 sheet as an example sheet, I won't have wasted tons of money on shipping and such. So, since I'll only have 9 sheets to work with, I can offer 18 half-sheets and 9 full sheets to you; the buyers.
Since I ordered my sheets yesterday, they should come in the mail by no later than Friday... hopefully. Unless there's a zombie outbreak or someone attacks the mail man or something like that.. :V
Full sheets will be 8.5 in x 11 in, half sheets are 5.5 in x 8.5 in. Custom sized sheets are reserved for special orders and single images.
About the stickers and the stuff I'm using to make 'em:
On a half sheet, I can fit:
- 9 - 12 Small sized characters
- 4 to 8 Medium sized characters
- 1 to 3 Large sized characters
Accents and symbols will take up more room and cost a little extra.
Full sheets will have to be worked out later, as I can offer more with those.
I am using a Canon MX310 printer to pop these babies out. The quality of the ink is excellent, and the colors shouldn't bleed on the vinyl.
A sheet of laminate will be applied to the sticker surface by default. This is to protect the colors from yellowing/aging, to make it more durable, and to add a shiny gloss or matte finish to the surface. It also makes the stickers extra waterproof.
The first set of vinyl stickers will have a permanent adhesive backing, which means you'll have to be careful where you stick them, because they'll be hard to remove. I won't be ordering any semi-permanent vinyl until I start making a profit from these, because they're pretty darn costly.

Posted 13 years agoI broke one of my fingers at work,
but that's okay because now I have these massive dose painkillers
and they are making me so woah
I just want to walk around and look at stuff
Anyway, on to how I broke it;
It's quite silly really.
I was reaching for a jar of spaghetti sauce way in the back of the shelf to move it up, and the shelf above it was really low at this one part that I couldn't see, and when I pulled it forward, my finger got wedged in between the jar and the shelf. I totally panicked and tried to pull my hand out (Lol im such an idiot)
and my finger broke
on my dominant hand
i am quite embarrassed, really.
