Truesona ans art trades
Posted 3 years agoSo recently I found a colour pallette I absolutely adore, I was doing my best to design a true sona, and I based it on my own skin and hair colour so it really felt like me! Im so happy with the designs I've made with it for the first time in a long time. I ended up designing myself multiple true sonas with it because I couldn't just settle on one species. I figured down the line that I could eventually settle on one. But for now I've got multiple and I love them all alot! For the first time in years i feel motivated to do personal artwork and get commissions, I havent seriously felt this way about a fursona since Marley.

Question about cultural appropriation
Posted 3 years agoSo , just for reference, im not white, nor white passing even, i'm mixed and African.
Anyways, I was doodling my fursona earlier in a princess jasmine esque desert princess outfit, I stopped myself after the sketch and really asked myself if it was okay, I had never considered it before, no have I drawn art like this before that I can recall. I did some research but couldn't quite find the answers I was looking for, maybe I wasn't typing in the correct things.
So far I've found out that the outfit that I've drawn is most likely closest to a belly dancing outfit, a really fantasy one at that,, but i found it originally originated in North Africa, where my ancestors are from, so,, I think (???) Its alright?
But I would like to ask, at the end of the day it was a sketch that took me less then 10 minutes to make, I am not at all attached to it and I'm open to changing it if it makes anyone uncomfortable or feels like cultural appropriation, im here to listen and learn basically.

A note on older adoptables
Posted 3 years agoKeep in mind this isn't directed at anyone in particular, nor am I upset, I just feel bad I can't be more of a help. Anyways.
I've noticed a bit of an interest in some of my designs that are around 2-3, sometimes 4 years old now, and I'll be honest, ive got a terrible memory, i will not sell you older designs as im terrified of accidently reselling something I've already sold. I can barley recall what ive had for breakfast much less if I sold a design or not years ago, I make so many adopts. So truly and genuinely my apologies to anyone trying to snag an older design, I just don't trust my memory nor do I want to risk causing drama. I hope you understand. Thankyou. 💖

out of a bad situation + update
Posted 4 years agoSo, I've had a rough month, I helped a stray malnourished dog get to the vet and get taken care of, and we also helped him get a home and found a dog fighting ring that I reported to the proper authorities after alot of research and exhausting back and forth with the original owner who was using him for dog fighting, thankfully the dog is out of that situation and okay. but right after dealt with some drama with my roomate and friend of 12 years, she had started to develop some anger issues the past year or so and had been taking it out on me every other month, I provided her with a safe home when she needed it, but she would always find something to yell at me about and make it a huge drama when I was doing nothing but trying to help her.
For example one time I offered to buy her and her partner an air mattress to sleep on when they came over so they could be comfortable, I can't drive and she never took me to the store and then she blew up at me when I wouldnt buy her a 200 dollar air mattress on the spot without any warning after I had paid bills, I still paid for the air mattress anyways because she made me feel bad and then she continued to yell at me over the situation even though I was just trying to help her, it was shit like this every other month.
I think she knew how to guilt me and take advantage of me because she had known me for so long. I did my best to communicate with her and work things out, but to spare everyone the details, it didn't go well, she refused to talk, took all the food and water and left. I was really sad for a bit that I had lost such a long friendship but I'm also just kind of thankful to have my living space back to myself again. I'm thankful that she got everything she needed and I was able to help her out for at least a little while, it also sucks because I have no food and water right now. I'm unfortunately going to have to do another batch of adoptables so I can get some groceries, and then I will be focusing on finishing the last of my commissions up, my apologies for any delays friends. I'm doing my best to hang in here.

Posted 4 years agoHey all, just wanted to give everyone a quick update on just life and my art!
So, I've been slowly but surely working through my last queue I've only got about 3 left on my to do list, and I'll be posting them as I complete them here. It will probably be a while before I re-open as I'd like to take some time to work on personal artwork, and develop my portfolio a bit more, and hopefully get started on the comic project I've been working hard on developing. I also want to get started on some refunds I've had people waiting on for a moment. in the meantime expect to see many adoptables. I truly hope you all don't mind seeing so many of them, they are good practice for me to work on different sorts of animals, and they help myself, bunny, and service dog get by, any retweets, shares, etc, really help me out! If you have any animals you would like to see as an adoptables in the future, hit me with your ideas and suggestions, I'm definitely open to hearing any and I will probably end up drawing it at some point or another.
I've also been working with a stray dog my partner and i found roaming the streets last week, we're fostering him for the next week or two until we can hopefully find him a home, he was just vetted and is generally pretty healthy despite a few intestinal issues and hook worms which we're treating, he's also a tad malnourished. he's a pitbull, preso canario mix I believe ( i could definitely be wrong) , you can see more about him on my twitter over here: https://twitter.com/_heartspark . he is an absolutely amazing dog, and I'd take him home if I didn't have a bunny and a dog already, and if you know anyone in the Cincinnati ohio area who's looking for a wonderful dog, and has a bit of rescue experience, please do let me know. I've been contacting multiple shelters in my area and unfortunately most are at max capacity at the moment.
I truly hope everyone has been doing well and has a wonderful start to their summer. <3

I currently do not want to add any more commissions to my work load. So what sort of adoptables would you guys prefer to see? Please only comment if you're genuinely interested in something because I depend on this money to live.

A note on files/adopts.
Posted 4 years agoSo my ipads been absolutely wonderful to work with, but I've noticed something really unfortunate. Sending files to customers takes ages. Sometimes even a day or two. Im doing my best to combat this and ive tried every work around to get people their files. Telegram, Google drive, imgur, using a different email, deviant art sta.ash, etc. If you name it ive probably tried it. my iPad either will simply not upload to that or it will just change the image to a jpeg. Im doing my absolute best. Even when I try to send files to myself. To my computer , it will still take days to send. Though sometimes I get lucky and it sends right away! It's weird. It's certainly a learning curve and my laptops basically unusable for art at this point because it crashes every 5 seconds. My internet connection is fine. Im not entirely sure what the issue is. But I promise you I am doing my best to figure this out. If its frustrating for you that your file hasn't arrived I promise you its equally frustrating on my end as well. It would do my no good to hold your files from you. All I ask is that you please be patient with me when buying adopts. I will do my absolute best to get everything to you. Just be kind and patient. This isn't a message to anyone specifically also, please note this is a common issue for me the past few weeks and this is justa. Headsup for my current commissioners/ adopt buyers and future ones while I figure this out.

Posted 4 years agoSorry for rhe slight delay on commissions, the holidays were pretty rough for me and then there was a period where my work laptop was like crashing almost once an hour and made work very hard and frustrating for me. But I got an iPad from a very kind follower and while there has been a bit of a learning curve I've adapted pretty quickly and have been more comfortable using it lately! I'm still figuring things out but I've started working on commissions on it! I only have about 5 commissions left to finish, yes if you are reading this this includes you , and I will finish all commissions in the next week or two! Thankyou everyone for being so kind and patient with me 💖

Ipad trade for art
Posted 4 years agoI know this is silly but it's a genuine inquiry, so, I've got a laptop that I use for art that's just slowly dying, I'm very worried about how I will work in the near future if it does die on me, I support myself and 2 animals. Anyways, I've been thinking on getting an Ipad or Ipad pro, It's much more convenient for me than my heavy laptop and is all around a cheaper choice for me. but it's currently out of my budget. I would genuinely be willing to do 4-5 paintings or a refsheet ( which I don't ever take as commissions) / and a painting or something in return for one if you happen to have an Ipad you don't use. 12.9 is preferred but honestly a 10.2 is fine as well! Just kind of feeling around and seeing who's interested! Thanks for reading <3

Posted 4 years agothe main creatures I connect with that I'm constantly shuffling between for a fursona are Fallow deer, domestic rabbit, caracal, and cheetah. I can never decide what feels most like me and it's frustrated sometimes lol. also I know and I acknowledge it is perfectly fine to have multiple fursonas! I will always have secondary fursonas! <3 Hyrbid and shapeshifters are valid too just not for me!
I'm just someone who prefers to have a main as well, I want a sona to represent me in everyform. but I've been in a fursona rut the past few years unfortunately
I sadly had something very stressful happen with my kangaroo sona ages ago which almost made me disconnect with them entirely. I still adore roos as animals and drawing them though.
( also keep in mind the behavior of a domestic rabbit s much different then a wild, domestic rabbits can be really social and bold! depends on the individual, I have a particularly bold one living in my house lol)

I'm openly trusting for the most part and pretty friendly
I'm very affectionate and love cuddles but only on my terms and only with certain people
I'm very independent and adventurous and have no problem traveling to other countries alone and such
only mammals please!
I just like getting others insight and opinions! It really does help me out <3

A note on autobuys
Posted 4 years agoPlease do not autobuy my adopts if you cannot pay right away. This isn't fun for me. This is how I pay rent, bills, get food for myself and my pets, I depend on this money.
I do not do holds, I do not do payment plans. Etc.
I've had 2 people this week say they were going to autobuy my work then back out, thats incredibly hard on me, especially right now when people simply are not buying adopts like usual.

Need help with doctor bills

commissions +Update
Posted 4 years agoSo if you can't tell by all the uploads lately, I've been working super hard to finish my entire commission queue lately and I'm finally done. for the first time in years I've cleared my queue! I Made the mistake of letting an abusive living situation get the better of me when I was younger and bit off way more than I can chew to try to keep myself family afloat and burnt myself out in a way I've never had happen before, the abusive relationships I was in the past few years didn't help either! It was absolutely awful! I'm never letting myself get so behind on commissions ever again you can count on that. I'm really proud of myself for pulling myself out of that with the thanks of some of my friends and the endless patience and support you guys have given me here <3
