I hope you’re all doing well!
I wanted to provide some updates on my life and some adjustments to a few of my recent expansions!
My tooth has been fully fixed! I’m glad for that restoration, thank you all for your support and understanding while I got things situated! I have also been able to secure a new-to-me computer! The little 2013 I have has been incredible with getting back on my feet, but I finally have a computer that can (fingers crossed) fully handle my workload.
While my financials are shaping up, I am remiss to admit that spring has been a very rough period in my life, and fairly recently in the last few years. I had written this post a few weeks ago, but lost someone else this year and it shut me down again. The Spring period might just be a period of time where I’m a little quiet until I can put distance in my mind from all of the people I’ve lost just in the process of a few months. I thought I could handle it, but fell off of my usual correspondence because of a very low mood and becoming quite reclusive. I will try to be better about this in the future!

Slot Commissions
I have been working on a massive overhaul of everything in my commissions! I realize that having a large queue would constantly stress me out, and as I’ve had a terrible work-life balance for the last few years, if I have a lot of commissions I end up feeling like I have no free time, because every free moment I’m not working on my job should be working on progressing commissions so I don’t fall behind, and continuing that energy forever. So instead, I will be transitioning to a Slots-Only and YCHs-Only premise! Ideally, I would love to do a small amount of weekly Commission slots, with YCHs throughout! I might be purposing my journals or submission to announce openings, if there is any way you prefer it, please let me know!
Commissions like this will be posted first in my Discord before being made publicly available!
Commission Changes
I originally priced my commissions so that flat colors would be affordable, and half the price of my completed pieces. The trouble with that, I realize, is that flat color takes me a lot longer than half of the process. So I will be working up the prices of Flats a little to be more reflective of the amount of time that takes. I will also be allowing a new budget option, “Sketches” which are a bit of a misnomer because they are actually my lineart stage in standard commissions. However, they are an easy way to get sketch pages and doodles, and it may be good to add color to these pieces at a later time for the difference in the price between Sketch and the finish you would like!
I had a website, but I realize it was very hard to work with revisions or grab relevant forms because of the layout of the website. I will be going to a Doc instead to better facilitate changes that I might need to make in prices or in examples or otherwise. Slot Commissions

Commissions Back Online and Expansions Update!

Humorously as it is tragically, maybe there had been a stocking issue? But the one store I could get the computer from never went back into stock. Fortunately, family came through! They mailed me a small computer that I once had used for college and let my sister use for college. It's very old, and understandably pretty slow, but it works! And for now, it will work to get my commissions out of the way. I can hope to afford to get a computer that might be better suited shortly, but beggars can't be choosers and I will work with what I've got until things can be situated!
I am in the last stages of my dental procedure! That's exciting, and I'm officially out of the part that was very leery and dangerous for my tooth. In a few weeks, my tooth will be restored! Thank you all so much for your support!
Commissions will resume, if a bit slower, but I will get WIPs sent out soon!

Secondly, I have been able to create an Art Discord Server! Commissions Delay Update
Posted 2 years agoTo everyone who commented on the last journal, I wanted to thank you all for reaching out! I've been having a difficult time but have been trying my best to double up on getting work done, comm work done, and also give a bit of time for myself when possible to relax and work on my mental health. I put in an effort but felt too low profile to really comment on anything, but I read your support and wanted to thank you for it before I got into my latest update. You all are what keep me afloat, so thank you!
I was working on some commission progress WIPs when my tablet seemed to have died. It would hover but would be unable to click on anything or apply any kind of pressure, and performance continued to drop quite suddenly to it not working at all for periods of time. Spooky red flag. My best friend in the whole world had actually bought me a new tablet because of my financial troubles, but due to that I also had the old tablet to work from, so I tried using it again in hopes it might have just been the tablet. No dice and the same issues. The issue seems like it's with my computer, which is already on the way out with flickering bars on the screen with increasing frequency and the system bricking for minutes at a time. It's also had a hard time picking up on when it is being charged, which makes me think it's a developing problem with the ports? But I digress into my current situation. I've made sure the drivers were up to date, and I've reset the computer, and the tablets, and worked to troubleshoot the device, my computer very simply is just not letting the tablets work.
I was already shopping for a new computer, but the situation is complicated. Due to the financial pressures of moving across the country last year, some unresolved debts with my family that I took on prior to that, and things like the emergency bill and dental surgery detailed in my previous journals, I am at best completely broke. However, I have a store credit card and I was hoping to use that to get a computer and work things out that way, paying it back with commissions over time. However, the store is currently out of computers that fit my specs (I don't want anything expensive or crazy, probably just a refurbished model of any grade that can handle the tasks of my art and my job requirements. The issue is just the supply was cleaned out entirely).
I had, until now, just been checking in daily to see when their inventory restocks. No harm no foul, when it restocks I get a New-to-Me computer and keep on keeping on. But now, with this ports/tablet issue, I'm afraid that Until I get this new computer, I will have to put my commissions on hold. I just physically can't do them right now. The store is said to restock every few weeks with new and refurbished stock, and I will continue to check daily until I find something. But for now and for an unknown time in the future, the Commission status will be paused until further notice. I hope you understand, and I hope to get this computer replaced ASAP, a few weeks out at the latest, fingers crossed.
I will try to get other, non-Commission-related progress worked out in the meantime. That might include getting the last kinks updated for Launching my Discord Server, or Creating a proper Comms Website. Carrd was a little bit ornery, so for now I will probably be using a more traditional website creator, like Wix
I may also look into creating Patreon to explore its offerings, but I will likely not launch anything even close to that until my computer troubles are behind me and I can make good on consistent work again. I just feel I can investigate those things while I cannot work on commissions in the traditional sense.
I still have a few completed pieces to post, so for the next few weeks I will Continue a weekly upload schedule. Hopefully, this will be sorted before that needs to change.
I hope the amount of downtime that is expected is reasonable. However, if the wait time becomes egregious, I will be happy to discuss it with commissioners. This is a TBD at the moment but could resort to small art gifts, coupons or discounts, or even partial refunds depending on severity.
I am very sorry for the inconvenience, but I hope to be up and running again soon. As always, thank you so much for your time and consideration!

I feel like that was a big hurdle I have struggled with in the past, so I am trying to do better both for myself and for people who are interested in commissioning me! You are all incredible and really keep me going, so I want to do my best by you!
Life has been a little hard this past week. I had to help my family pay a 400$ bill, have been dealing with a major shift in responsibilities at my job, and overall also dealing with some more personal situations that have left me on the razor's edge with my anxiety. It feels like I've taken a huge backward slide in spite of my best efforts and I've been more than fairly overwhelmed. Correspondence and commission progress might be slower for a short bit as I try to get my mental health sorted. I've felt so guilty because I gave a timeline for my commissions and I think for the most part I can make those deadlines, but with the current string of luck I've been filling myself with dread that I'll still take too long. Being nearly unable to do anything in a day because I've shut down only exacerbates those feelings.
I will keep my queue up to date and progress as much as I can when I can, but I ask for your patience while I try to work through this low. Thank you for understanding!
It pleased me to know in the poll that several people would be interested in a personal discord server, because I actually have had one in the works for a while now! I was planning on keeping it close to my chest until it was complete, but I wanted to respond to my poll to mention quite definitively: A Murkey Art Discord will be coming soon!
Additionally, I will be investigating the prices for Wing-It Commissions. I might tether that to Ko-Fi commissions, though I'm undecided! But it feels like a good way to just send in a detailed prompt of what you want so I can work with quicker, revision-free commissions at a discount from my normal rates!
I now accept Boosty as a payment method, which I hope will allow more versatility for payment with future commissions.
Lastly, I might be creating a Carrd Website and changing my organization and promotional materials to better explain my prices and what I do! There are some things being phased out, and I might be making a greater distinction based on the finish of my piece, rather than having them all cluttering specific ads. Stay tuned and hopefully, everything will be more concise and legible!

Emergency Comms and 2023 Update + Poll!

I believe I'm starting to get some good work done for the commissions I have taken. I'm hoping to get a few knocked out by or over this weekend! However, there are a few small complications that I wanted to talk about:
My computer might be on its last leg, which is worrying since it's my main source of income with art and with my job. My husband, who is much more computer-savvy than me, has given me the prognosis to continue backing up my computer so I don't lose everything. I may be in the process of having to get a new computer soon just out of necessity.
Similarly, as trouble comes in threes I suppose, my tablet has also been acting up and has been giving jagged lines, jumping around, or just not reading or registering. Fortunately, I don't need anything too fancy or big in way of tablets, but with the costs of everything else it's been feeling fairly daunting. To help cover the costs, I might open a few more commissions soon just to try and keep on top of everything! I will try to get some commissions done in short order so I can have more room to get comms done in a reasonable amount of time.
Further 2023 Updates
♦ A small revision on delivery times. I believe I will be keeping the expected delivery time for most comms to 2-4 weeks. However, as mentioned I am having a hard time with NSFW, I only have limited times when I can work on it. I believe everyone who's ordered NSFW from me recently has been informed of that and was okay with it. So going forward, I believe NSFW comms might be expected to take upwards of 2 months to complete. I will of course work on them as soon as I can, I just have much less time throughout the week to work on them! I'm currently getting through them slowly but surely, I hope you understand!
♦ Similarly, My Queue is now split between SFW Comms and NSFW Comms I have more time available to work on General Commissions, so I will be working on them as I receive them (Except some YCHs which may be done out of order). This way, I don't get into a bottleneck where some General comms are waiting for me to find time to work on NSFW to begin their commission. I will still work on NSFW whenever I find time and will work down that queue over time! This is just to best optimize the time I have available for both NSFW and SFW commissions.
♦ Once I get out of this stint of Emergency Commissions, I might Open a set amount of Slots Weekly or Biweekly which should hopefully reduce wait times significantly!

This last week was a fair bit busier than I intended. I had to make up hours and the only coworker I have in my department was on vacation, so I've had a heavier workload this last week. I've been able to progress a few commissions over the weekend but I hope I will have more progress over this upcoming week
That being said, after I get through the majority of the Emergency Commissions, I wanted to investigate expanding my platform and commission types.
Should I have a Discord server to build my community? A Patreon so I could do fanart raffles or offer discounts to supporters? Ko-Fi Commissions to easily manage slots for commission openings?

First, I wanted to thank you all for the incredible amount of support I received on my emergency commissions. From both established watchers to folks who have just found my content, I managed to have just an outpour of support and I am eternally grateful! I don't want to overload so I will be closing down commissions just until I get a few worked out! But I wanted to thank you all for your interest and for your support!
Sincerely, I actually feel like it is achievable when just a few days ago it looked like a looming, daunting, and almost impossible project. More updates on this to come soon!
I had wanted to post about this a few days ago, but then my dental plans took the turn they did. I'll rectify that now to express that I will be trying out some new things in 2023! I want to get more seriously involved with my art, but I want to work with it more consistently and professionally moving forward. That's why I bring you:
♦ First and foremost, I will be continuing the use of PostyBirb for commission posting moving forward! It saves me time and also allows me to sort of AFK it provided my machine isn't acting up, but it will keep my posting much more consistent!
♦ Similarly, after this glut of posts, which is scheduled to end approximately Feb 1st, I will be trying to upload consistently at least once a week. I might be aiming at twice once I get some more commissions sorted out!
♦ I will be instituting a policy change where My average expected delivery time will be in 2-4 Weeks. NSFW might be a little on the longer end depending on my availability to work on it. I generally try to get my art done faster than that! However, when my queue gets heavier like it is right now, I worry about the timeline for the people towards the back of the queue. I've had trouble being overwhelmed in the past because I want to get everything done ASAP, and had felt like I failed if I didn't. This is a bit of tempering for me going forward, I hope you all understand!
♦ I now have a proper Public Queue that you can view! I will probably be figuring out where to post this for easy accessibility, This site offers automation and a lot of neat little tools, so I will be trying to optimize the experience for anyone looking in to check on my progress for their art or my current workload with other comms.
♦ I will also be creating a Waitlist! Considering the interest sometimes exceeds the number of orders I can do in a reasonable timeframe, I've often bitten off more than I can chew. I think this would help handle that issue and it would also keep me on top of giving reminders when my commissions become available. If you would like to be a part of the waitlist, please let me know! I would be happy to add you and I thank you for your consideration!

♦ I will be instituting a policy change where My average expected delivery time will be in 2-4 Weeks. NSFW might be a little on the longer end depending on my availability to work on it. I generally try to get my art done faster than that! However, when my queue gets heavier like it is right now, I worry about the timeline for the people towards the back of the queue. I've had trouble being overwhelmed in the past because I want to get everything done ASAP, and had felt like I failed if I didn't. This is a bit of tempering for me going forward, I hope you all understand!
♦ I now have a proper Public Queue that you can view! I will probably be figuring out where to post this for easy accessibility, This site offers automation and a lot of neat little tools, so I will be trying to optimize the experience for anyone looking in to check on my progress for their art or my current workload with other comms.
♦ I will also be creating a Waitlist! Considering the interest sometimes exceeds the number of orders I can do in a reasonable timeframe, I've often bitten off more than I can chew. I think this would help handle that issue and it would also keep me on top of giving reminders when my commissions become available. First things first, I'm almost through my commissions and will be trying to get the last few finished up soon! I hope my current commissioners don't mind as I open and advertise a few Emergency Commissions at this time.
In short, I am uninsured and have to pay out of pocket for an expensive dental procedure. I will be uploading some reminders for comms and possibly some of my YCH backlog to try and get some funding in.
I also have a Ko-fi set up if you would like to donate! Any little bit helps, and I could maybe do doodles for certain amounts if anyone is interested!
Any support at all would be greatly appreciated!

The Big Bad Backlog

I hope you're all having a wonderful and safe 2023 so far!
I finally decided to try PostyBirb and the interface is absolutely phenomenal. This journal update, if it goes through, was written in advance while I spent a bit of today scheduling out my posts.
I've been very behind on my backlog, and I've finally decided to make 2023 the year I take action on it! I have fed most of my commissions into a schedule and will hopefully have it upload about once a day (twice a day on weekends) until the glut of my backlog is up and running~
I also have a full queue of commissions, so you can look forward to seeing more art at a more casual frequency once I have it mostly uploaded!
You'll get to see some more YCHs, Commissions I've been working on, and a lot of Ongoing Pred commissions! That makes up a lot of them. I was in a big bottleneck with posting, but hopefully this app will free me to be able to post things in a more timely manner later.

Commission and NSFW Update!

I'm sorry for sort of falling off the radar. I hope you're all doing well!
My health took quite some time to get over, and then the job that was lined up for my husband fell through only after he was jerked around for a while. I had to grab hours at my old job so that I could cover our joint bills, and it's been really rough between health and trying to play catch up.
I've gotten through most of my queue except my NSFW content, but unfortunately, I am in a location with roommates now where it's hard to find the availability to work on NSFW content. They all know I work on vore, funnily enough! That's SFW enough that I can work on that, however, NSFW has been another beast entirely.
I will slowly work through that queue as I find time and availability for it, but in the meantime, I might be opening SFW general and vore commissions again! I hope those that have NSFW commissions understand.

New Home, New Update- New Comm Slots Coming soon!

I hope you've been doing well since I last checked in!
We've settled into our new home somewhat, but unfortunately on the trip we contracted sickness. I got sick with strep throat from one of the last going away parties while traveling, and then we have been confirmed for covid at a later interval of time. We suspect that I was sick, and we all came in contact with someone during a very person-congested part of the trip and so we caught ill with that later. I thought I was getting over strep when it developed some icky new symptoms and got sick again. Our car, humorously, has not been fully unpacked from the trip because of how sick we've been.
I wanted to give you all an update. I am going to try to get into my art and the like, but it might be slow going as I try to recover to the speed of my full capacity.
I will be changing the raffle to the end of the month so I can advertise it more since I didn't think it would take this long to be settled in, and that's still not even completely done yet.
On some more fun updates, I've been working on something that should be ready to go soon for people! I was going to wait until after the move, but I will be waiting a little bit longer so I can give it my full attention when I've recovered.
In addition, and maybe most fun of all, I will be opening full comms as soon as I get a handle on the last commissions in my queue! I might still post YCHs, but I will be trying to work with commission slots so people can get exactly the art they want from me!

A Quick Hiatus!

I'm in the process of moving across the country, a nice 2500+ mile journey, and between that, weddings, family drama and packing etc it's been way way way busier than I anticipated! I think it only fair to let you all know what's going on in my life, but I will likely be on hiatus for the next 2 weeks. I'm hoping to be fully settled in sometime in the first week of October, and I will be hitting commissions and artwork hard after this! It's just been way too busy to get things fully situated here.
I really hope you understand, and if you haven't already, please check the raffle going on in my scraps! I want to give back to my watchers for being incredible support in my journey.

I wanted to thank you all so much for your support, however, I've been having trouble deliberating on what I could give back to my audience.
- Part of me knows that I went full into vore, so I'm wondering if I should do a raffle for a free piece of custom art? Like I could draw someone's pred and a multi-slot YCH so they get a custom piece of their pred! I could maybe auction off or raffle off other slots?
- Or maybe I should do a vore piece and then a general piece, just for folks who don't follow me for vore?
- Or maybe I could just do a single raffle, and let the person decide if it should be vore or general art?
I'm not sure which of these is best, or what my current audience would like! That's why I want to ask to see what you guys want to see!

Small Health Update: I'm still on the mend from a pretty nasty infection. I can move my jaw a little (though it gets tired easily) and I'm basically tethered to the heating pad and pain killers, but that's a lot of progress compared to how bad it's been this weekend! I might still be a little slow on the reply, but I'll be available as soon as I can be!

I just wanted to apologize real quick for kind of falling off this week, I had fallen under the weather but then was kept firmly under the weather. I now have one side of my face completely swollen because of some kind of infection and it's been a very miserable week.
I will return back to everything ASAP! I've just been in a lot of pain and it's been hard to so much as function when it feels like one side of my face is sewn shut.

Quick Question Regarding YCHs!
Posted 3 years agoI've posted some saved YCHs that are running and should hopefully be settled by the end of the weekend and ironed out so I can begin work Wednesday!
But I had a question regarding future YCHs, Would you like them neater in the future?
To elaborate: I usually keep my YCH sketches-- just that, very sketchy. I feel like it is more of a proof of concept, and so can be highly customizable when someone buys the YCH.
However, I know that it leaves a little more to be desired by being so sketchy, so that's the question I pose! Are the current highly sketchy YCHs okay? Or would you be interested in possibly less customizable but more cleaned-up versions of them in the future?

Small Status Update!

Unfortunately, my dog knocked over my tablet and it seems to have sustained some damage. It's being incredibly finicky and is being increasingly hard to work with. I have a new tablet ordered and coming in, but that will be delivered next Wednesday.
My tablet isn't entirely broken, so I will keep working with it! However, it might be slower going for a while here just because of how much harder it is to work with. To offset the cost, though, I might also throw up another YCH or a custom commission or two! Stay tuned!

I've created a mostly SFW account on Murkey, with a side account for NSFW. However, this has been hard to keep updated and I was contemplating merging and just posting all of my work on this account?
I'll of course work with proper censoring and filtering per piece! But do you think that would be okay?
I feel it would give me the ability to show off my range for future commissions all in one place, a verified portfolio of my work! But I also don't want to flood my page with NSFW. I don't have a lot to post right now, but I think that might change in the future, so I wanted to see what you all thought?

I will be trying to get on top of my commissions in the next week or two! I will be temporarily closed for new commissions until I get my queue filled out, and afterwards I will send notes or replies asking if people previously interested in commissioning are still interested. Another Update
Posted 3 years agoI apologize for having to do this right now, but this is a very very hard time of the year for me right now. We had a lot of loss all at once last year, and there is more of it this year and it's all just piled up and it feels really overwhelming. I kind of shut down a bit thoroughly.
I apologize for the delay, but I will try my best to comb through my notes and get back on top of things soon! It's just been an onset of grief and a lot of things I have phobias about piling up and almost paralyzing me from how much weight it settles in my chest.

I've been having a rough time with my health, and so because of that I'm going to be working less hours while I investigate my options with my doctor. I'll be opening commissions soon to offset this setback in funds.
However, I will do that starting this weekend because my computer had encountered a hardware problem and is in the shop. Once I get that back, I'm going to be good to go and get my current comms done and open more soon.

towards the end because my health took a turn and I've been very lastingly sick all week.
And unfortunately, my dog's health also took a turn. We had to have her put down.
It still doesn't feel real.
On one hand, she was an old gal, my first dog. I've known her longer than I've known my husband, I've lived more days on this Earth with her than without her. I thought I was prepared for this inevitability. But I wasn't, it hits me in waves and just crushes the breath from my lungs when it does.
I wanted to get right back to work after my wedding, but I might need a little bit more time to get back to the grind.
