This week my cat Sparrow has been at the vet because he's pretty sick. He was barely eating and then stopped eating entirely. Vet says his liver is the problem and he has something called hepatic lipidosis. Unfortunately since I got let go from my job because of Covid, the minimum cost of his care is still more than I can afford. All the tests and meds and care were quoted at a total of $3000, which could very well increase since he's going to have to be there longer than initially quoted and will go up more if they have to do a biopsy and feeding tubes. My mom helpfully set up a GoFundMe to try to at least cover some of that initial 3k. If anybody can help out, I'd appreciate it a lot.

Just got home from TFF and boy was it an experience. Only negatives were the hotel room, accidentally ended up with six people in a small king room, and that was a tight fit. But the good far outweighed that. Met a couple of my mates, Nick and Alexei, for the first time, and my mates Patterpaws and Blackpaw for the second time. Saw so many friends and made a few too, and I can now say I've been to Texas. Amazing panels, great art, wonderful people, etc. One really fun thing was Nick, Alexei, and I may have drawn in a new fur in the night shift front desk guy at the La Quinta. All the staff were so excited when we went through, him especially, and on Friday he said he loved Alexei's wah ears. Nick asked his favorite animal, found it was a lion, and we got him a lion tail and ears. Guy's face lit up and he said he's going to be attending the con next year. Overall it was a great few days and I can't wait to do it again next year, just with a bigger room lol.

Just got home from MFF. It was the first con I've ever been to, so it was a lot to take in, but I had so much fun there. Met a bunch of friends and fur family for the first time, got some awesome art, and visited a new city. I can honestly say I think that was one of the best weekends of my life.

Decided that as much as I love the name Deucalion, I wanted a name that was more fitting for my new species, and one that hadn't been something else before. So now instead of Deucalion, my name is Duskwatcher. Hope y'all like the new name

Well, things have been tight since my seasonal job ended a month ago, but I finally managed to get another job working asset protection at Macy's. I start tomorrow, going in to do HR stuff. Pays better than my previous jobs too. I'm really hoping this means things will start improving for me

So things aren't going great right now. Moved in with my grandmother on Long Island back in August so I could job search here and in Connecticut. Two months and no luck so far, despite hundreds of applications. Good news is I've sent out my application for a NYS security license. Bad news is I'm a week late on my last car payment because I'm out of money. Even if I take into account the $100 I can overdraw my account, I'm still $70 short of being able to pay it. And I have no idea how long it'll take to get the license, or to get a job doing that once I do get it. Really stressed out

Took a risk recently and left my job, which was barely giving me 10 hours a week, and moved in with family on Long Island. So right now I’m searching for jobs here, as well as up in Connecticut. Couldn’t just stay trapped in PA with a job that wasn’t going to pay enough anyway and was just making it harder to search here. Hoping things will work out

So Deucalion has gone through quite a few changes since I created the character. At first Duke was just an anthro leopard. Then gained the ability to formshift to feral or taur after I met my feral mate/love of my life  siruslupus. Then, a visual change to make the rosettes look more leopard and less jag. Then added shifting to herm as that became more appealing to me. Now I believe I've reached the final version of Deucalion; chakat. Leopard has always just felt right, and taur and herm have felt similar as of late, so now shi's officially a chakat. But still with the formshifting ability because I love all the art I've previously gotten and this lets it still be relevant to the current version of hir.

Been working this new security job for like 3 months now and it’s going alright. Started applying to security jobs up near Hartford, CT though, and am hoping I hear something back soon. Would be great to be near my college friends again. Here’s hoping

So I finally got a new job a couple weeks ago after being unemployed for months. Good to be making money again. Still have to catch up on bills, but hopefully this will let me start saving up to finally visit the love of my life  siruslupus and get a few more pieces of art as well. It's at least some weight off my shoulders.

Not sure if anyone cares, but I feel like writing something here, so I'm going to just tell folks about what I've got going on right now. So after working on figuring him out for a bit and having him in my head for months, I'm finally getting a quote for my second OC. I'm super excited to think that I'll actually get to see him at some point. Also, even more exciting, finally starting to put money aside to eventually take a trip to see my mate. I figure a bus is the cheapest way to get between Pennsylvania and Texas, and I've got the cost of a Greyhound both ways saved up so far. And also, the job I'm looking at right now looks like it might work out. Trying not to get too excited but I'm super hopeful that I'll have a federal job soon.

Well i said I want to actually use this so I'm going to try to. Not a very interesting fur and idk if anyone will read these but I'll try to say something every now and then. Been super stressed by all the money and job issues, but right now I'm staying with my friends for a week. My 3 best friends from college. Lots of video games and board games and MtG to try to distract myself for a bit. Still applying and hoping for the best.

Hey folks. I've been meaning to start making some journal entries because why not. For this first one, as much as I hate to do it, I have to ask for some help if anyone can provide it. Been going through some tough times. I lost my job back in may and despite numerous interviews and a lot of applications, I've had no luck yet. Unfortunately I had also gotten into a car accident right before I lost that job and had to worry about that too. As of right now, getting my car fixed just used up every last dollar I have left and I still have to worry about insurance and regular payments, which add up to over 500 every month, as well as I have to get my registration renewed and inspection done ASAP. I hate asking for help but I'm out of options at this point. Please share
