Alive. really!
Posted 5 years agoNot that I'm particularly watchable, but I wanted to drop a line that I'm still alive and well since I've been aiming to get active again.
Fur The More Meme
Posted 11 years agoHell with it, why not. I see this coming up for FWA, but I'm not making it to Atlanta this year. I'm going to FTM instead!
Where are you staying?
My place, unless I'm offered crash space for some reason.
What day are you getting there?
Friday evening.
Departure?
Sunday evening, most likely.
Transportation?
Driving to and from each day.
Who will you hang with during the convention?
Whoever I end up enjoying for company.
Will you be suiting?
Nope.
What is your gender?
Female.
How tall are you?
5'6".
Are you taken? Are you looking for a 'mate'?
No and no, but company might be welcome.
Can I talk to you?
Of course!
Can I touch you?
Not without asking first, and be willing to accept no for an answer.
How can I find you?
I'll be volunteering, mostly, so probably by running into me randomly or having my contact info.
Can I visit your room?
I won't have one!
Can I buy you drinks?
Hmm. Maybe, if it's early enough for me to work through it before having to drive.
Can I hug or snuggle with you?
See "touch" - ask first, accept it if I say no.
Are you nice?
Sometimes!
Will you be going to parties?
Not sure. If I'm invited I might drop into a few of them.
Do you do drugs/drink/smoke?
No, unlikely, no.
If I see you, how should I get your attention?
Catch my eye. Verbally I tend to respond to "Smokie" best, then "CeeBee".
What/where will you be eating?
Not actually sure. Will be figuring this out day to day. Might be carrying sandwiches..
Can I come with you for food/fun/etc.
..but I really like group meals at cons. I'm more likely to accept invitations than make them.
Can I take your picture?
Um, why would you want to? O_o
Whats your goal this year?
Meet a handful of new people, have fun.

Nosing back in: An Updating Journal
Posted 11 years agoI've been on FA more times in the past month than in the year prior, so I figure I ought to update for the old friends who still watch me. I'm still alive if you don't have current messengers or muck contact for me, so drop me a note, ya doofs, let me know how to contact you somewhere other than here if you're reading this.
I've relocated from Nowheresville to a relatively metropolitan region and I'm trying to, gasp, spend time with people in person instead of sticking with my keyboard. It's slow going; I'm constantly afraid of overstaying my welcome with the new people I've enjoyed. I'm trying to avoid clinging, to space my time evenly. It's a weird balance to strike - I'm used to cohabitation taking the edge off of my need for companionship, so living alone affects me more than I'd thought. I also used to get told all the time that I shouldn't wait around for invitations if I want company, but I might be asking too often now. It doesn't help that it's Christmastime - always more of an urge to have company, to not think about family obligations, to absolutely NOT be alone for too long. So hopefully I'll balance out soon without messing too much up for myself.
ANYWAY. To the not-angst!
I got out to a fur-friendly gamer gather this week, my first fur gathering that wasn't a con in, cripes, maybe ever? Great, comfortable atmosphere, practiced hosting, good assortment of people and games. Puppy would be envious and a little proud of me, I think. I managed to have a remarkably good time, playing multiplayer DrMario, doing a quick Blanka run through Street Fighter (well, to Sagat anyway, GrumbleTigerGrumble), and watching a lot of Rock Band. I even sang a little from the couch and didn't get scowled at for being out of tune.. just for not volunteering before the song started. If I get the chance to go again, maybe I'll get to join in and pop that cherry. People who knew me RL would be shocked, given how many years I entirely sat out in my own house. Also, wtf, you can actually see me in a picture. And I'm smiling. O_o WTF, The Smokie having FUN in a group.

Snip, snip
Posted 13 years agoActually got time and motivation to drop in here. I'm cleaning out my watch, getting dead accounts off of my list, adding the new accounts. I'm sad to see so many artists just gone.
I skipped over all the drama about policy changes, though, so they probably had good reasons.
Either way, yeah, stuff.

FWA (Post)
Posted 15 years agoSuch a good con. Thanks to all the new artists who showed up, displayed their talents, and accepted money from me. :)
See more people next year, I'm hoping. Sleeeep now.

FWA (2010)
Posted 15 years agoI'll be there, though that doesn't mean much. :) See a few of you there, I imagine.
DragonCon
Posted 15 years agoFor those of you who're watching, and may attend... I'm still planning on being at DragonCon. Anyone else gonna be there?
FWA
Posted 16 years agoWell, FWA rocked. I got to meet a good handful of people, most of whom were lovely ladies (lucky me!) with talent (double lucky!). Soon as I get around a scanner, I'll have displays of what I got to show off and all that lovely jazz.
Apparently I'm obligated to hit Dragon*Con now, and I'm thinking FWA next year might be doable as well. I liked the feel of the place.

Conventions
Posted 17 years agoWell, seeing everyone get ready for AC, I found out that it's a bit too expensive for me to attend - at least this year. It can wait.
However, I found a great deal for Morphicon in Ohio, and I will be attending. So far, I'll have less than a handful of people that I know in attendance - that's not horrible, but if any of you few folk watching me will be there, do let me know?

Checking In.
Posted 18 years agoI just wanted to thank those who watched me back. I never expected to be adding to this gallery, really, but seeing you give me that courtesy gives me more motivation to try.
There's so much quality art coming through this account: people who have ideas and passion, even if their confidence in themselves is lacking.
Thank you all for sharing your work with me.
