[Collab] "Afternoon shift at a certain magic shop"

mnlthx and myself!
It consists of a short story written by them, and two illustrations done by me. We agreed to post one part in each of our galleries. The first part is already out, with the first drawing and the full story, and you can see and read it here!
The second part will be posted in my gallery next Wednesday to wrap it up.

Posted 7 months agoHello! As some of you might have noticed, I’ve been quite absent from here for about half a year. This was due to personal circumstances that left me with no time nor energy for artistic endeavors. Thankfully, that situation changed recently, and while I still don’t have as much time as I used to, I would love to come back to drawing, and taking commissions more regularly.
My aim is to be able to go back to do this regularly, but In order to keep it going, there are two points I would like to address, for the sake of transparency:
Delivery time. Those who worked with me in the past know that my usual delivery time for a commission is one to two weeks, depending on the complexity of the work. Given the circumstances, I would ask for a little more leeway in this regard, and ask for the full month to complete the commission. Note, this doesn’t mean it cannot be ready before that, but rather a way to temper expectations in order to be able to work more comfortably.
Prices. This is not going to apply for the current batch, but I’m considering a small increase in prices, especially to the more complex works. It wouldn’t be much (on the lines of 5-10€ tops), but the cost of everything has gone up and I could use the extra bit.
If you have any doubts or comments regarding this, please feel free to leave a comment.

Unfortunately I can only pick four for this batch, but since I intend to do this more regularly, there will be more chances for those who didn’t make it this time around! I’ve been quite inactive this month so far... Was planning to upload something earlier, but must admit that, while I immensely enjoyed both the October streams and TF week, I ended up burning myself out a bit and needed some breathing time to recover. Adding to that, life’s been getting in the way for the last few weeks, thankfully nothing too important, but enough to take away a generous amount of time.

Posted 2 years agoOctober is just around the corner, and I would like to take a moment to inform about what's in store.
First of all, TF Week is coming back! and a certain witch is already preparing for the occasion. Don’t forget to be careful during the week before halloween lest you find yourself enspelled by her magic!
Unfortunately, given the amount of work it usually takes me and what I’m planning for this year, It’s unlikely that I’ll open new commission slots for the month.
But…
I intend to do regular sketch streams during the month! Starting on October 2nd until October 28th, I will stream every Sunday and Wednesday on Picarto at 20:00 UTC. The expected duration of these streams is 1,5 to 2,5 hours, and you are all welcome to come and say hi.
However, I have to put a little heads-up here. What I just mentioned is the plan. I can neither guarantee that I’ll be able to make it every day nor that the days will remain the same. I will do my best to keep it that way, and changes or cancellations will be notified beforehand via journal.
Thank you and have a nice spooky season!

It’s been a few since I posted a journal asking for your thoughts on an alternative commission assignment method. Let me say thank you to those who gave your feedback.
In the end I’ve decided to give this new method a try. After reading the comments and thinking about it these past few days, the conclusion is that the pros outweigh the cons, and the main problems shouldn’t really be a, well… problem:
If there are not enough people interested, it will be no different for those who want to get two comms in a row. If there are, it will allow for a more organic way for newcomers to get a spot while still not closing the door to those who commissioned me previously.
Thus, I would like to state that I will do my best to be as fair as possible during the selection process and look out for the most interesting ideas.
The new rules and details of the process will be listed in the description of the post next time I open new commission slots.

I’m writing this journal because recently I’ve been thinking about the way I handle commission assignments. In short, I’m considering changing the assignment method, or at least giving a different one a try. But I thought it would be best to ask what you, my watchers, think before putting it into practice. Let me explain myself first:
Up until now the commission slots I open have been assigned on a first come, first served basis. It has worked well so far, but I tend to post at a similar hour each time, and since slots usually fill up within a few hours (which i’m very grateful for, truly) There might be people that don’t even get the chance to apply because they are not available during that time frame.
So, what I am considering instead is having a 24h period for people to submit their ideas when I open new slots, then choose which ones to do myself. This would have a few advantages:
-It should make it easier for anyone to apply regardless of their schedule.
-It puts less pressure on me, since there would be no rush to announce when the slots have been filled.
-Because of the previous point, It may allow me to increase the number of slots in the future, although they would remain at their usual four at first.
Of course, I am well aware there are no less important cons to this method, and am particularly worried about a few things.:
-It can feel punishing to those who commission me on a regular basis, since arriving fast would no longer be rewarded.
-I understand it can feel bad for your idea to not be taken, although not being taken for one round wouldn’t mean it couldn’t be taken in the future.
-I would be asking for your trust that I will be fair in picking the commissions. And while I think I've been transparent all this time, I cannot offer anything more than my word.
With that said, I would like to read your thoughts and opinion on the matter. Would you be okay were I to try this new method, or you like the current one best?

I'm posting this to announce that I'm going to give streaming a try! Part of the intention is providing an avenue of direct interaction with my watchers without the maintenance and dedication requirements a Discord server needs. And what would be more appropriate than doing so while doodling for a little while?
So, I've prepared a little stream you are invited to, feel free to come and chat while I sketch some random doodles! I've also prepared a little game you can participate in for its duration that may cause some transformations to happen... ;>
The stream will start Tuesday 18th at 21:00h UTC and will be online for 1...1.5 hours.

This first one is for testing the waters, a trial of sorts since I don't know If it's something I will do regularly. Because of that, I want to keep it pressure free for the moment. That means that no formal requests will be taken.
I'm posting this to announce that I'm going to give streaming a try!
