First off for those reading happy 2025!
Im going to keep this journal short and updatey then post a second one afterwards that’s MUCH longer and a bit of an introspective of the year and my thoughts of things across it.

The first REALLY BIG update is changing the name of my main sona. I’ve done so with friend groups already to test it and confirm, it feels so right it’s crazy! But Builderfish8 will now be Finnick going forwards, after this Ill change the ref sheet post and any art uploaded with him aswell as the folder. Builderfish8 will still be my online handle but it was feeling wrong as a character name and Finnick feels like a name and also has some fun pun-age and personal relatability.

Second, yes Im still uploading art when I remember! I’ll be honest it’s just not really a thing my mind sees as a priority. Like I’m not buying the art for other people im buying it for me and friends, and I have it and see it. I’ve tried setting like a daily reminder to upload a piece but I often just kinda…ignore it and keep doing what I’m doing. I’ll try and get better but no promises, if you’re really desperate I favorite ANY piece that I’ve commissioned and an artist uploads.

Life. Life is going to take priority here for a little as I’m beginning a big job search and (hopefully) local move in my area. I’m going through a big life change where im basically changing my field of work and…that’s not about to be easy. However, it will be more fruitful giving me way more money and benefits which I hope to start saving and giving to those I’d like to support but…can’t. Thankfully I live in a big city so hopefully I will find something locally and not have to move cross country but…I gotta keep my mind open.

I have a big goal for the year 2025 which is to officially open commissions! I know I’m not the greatest at more full detail art yet but I do thing my GBA sprites are pretty solid and I can do decent headshots. So once I work with other artist friends to set that up you can look forwards to that from me! They won’t be super expensive to start as I find where I like my prices.

Lastly for updates I have one other major goal for the year: UPLOAD MY WRITING. For those who don’t know I’ve slowly developed and wrote an entire world that most of my OCs live in. I’ve developed a social structure, a magic system, custom plants and species, etc. I hope to make a public version of this that people can read to learn about the characters better if they wish. (and maybe make a TTRPG out of at some point who knows)

There’s been a lot of people who’ve been a staple in my life across this year, even if it was one with a lot of change and social loss.
 naffydoesart and his community of…way too many awesome people to list have been always positive and caring to be around. It’s been nice helping run a weekly question for the server there. Not to mention going to my first 2 fur cons this year with em!
 Ryukiri has always been an amazing help to my art journey and just and banger person to talk to about things. Her community is one I’ve grown very attached to, even if I got thrown in the pit twice there this year XD. They have fun art events and conversations that kept me sane during the horrible points of this year.
In a similar goat-I mean boat  siriusthegoat89 was amazing to meet up with during some really crummy work travel. Being able to have someone just fun to chat with and pull me away from it was huge.
This year I started to get back into the process of trying to medicate my ADHD and have better focus. Gracelyn was an amazing supportive shoulder for that, just someone to go back and forth and talk about my worries.
Small shoutouts too  aurias42 for a super fun playthrough of palworld with me where he modded his character in it was super cool. Also to  arrg aka Iron for being my go to dealer of my idle and progression game addiction, youve sapped so many hours from my life with your suggestions thank you.


I have a lot of high hopes for 2025 and things going forwards. It’s just gonna be a rough start but an amazing rest I feel.
