A repeat of what I put on Facebook, but not all of you are there so if you read that ignore this unless you want to find the links to just a few of the awesome people I have the privilege to call friend <3 this is just about Saturday Night as so many are curious on it. My whole weekend's fun I'll be doing a part 2 for later that won't talk much about Saturday's fiasco...

How to describe this weekend. First, I'll say that it was even more memorable than last year, despite the cane/wheelchair I was forced to use from an injury I inherited in August. I was told I was the best/most fun 'table' in the whole con, the best decorated chair in the whole con, and the outfits I made for Mieze and I seemed to be a real hit Oh, and yes,  Miezekatze-suit IS freaking infamous now as the 'tiger in a blue ballgown' crossing the road in so many freaking news stories.... *laughs*

My 'experience' on Saturday Night/Sunday morning:

The Midwest Furfest staff is phenomenal. They helped me and my 'handlers' on Saturday Night/Sunday morning when my wheelchair was in the room and they called the evac notice as soon as they realized what shape walking that far in the cold had me in, and I think every 'head security' person who was working in that crisis stopped to talk to me, to really hear me, and to make sure I was ok till the Dog Show Building emptied out and they could get a wheelchair TO me to get back inside the cleared hotel. Being 2nd to last out was sooo odd. Everyone there banded together to get those less than fully winter gear ready warm, to keep suiters who were dead tired from dancing from passing out or having distress, and most of all, people smiled.

A wonderful lady from one of the Dealer's Den booths gave me her spare blanket that I returned the next morning to use to stay warm. Furries are so freaking CARING as a whole. We (mostly) have a fabulous 'stick together attitude' that's so open to keeping the pack safe and sound and it's humbling to be the one others care for. Moreso in moments like that.

A HUGE thank you to  shadowsedge who some of you know and some should know because he's freaking amazing as a friend and a great photographer to boot! When my silly foot was keeping everyone in a big bottle neck on the sidewalks with my slow moving speed, he actually fireman carried me the whole damned block down to the dog show building.... if you don't know what that move is look it up. Dignified I did not look, but he saved me a WORLD of pain trying to do that long walk. And amazingly didn't break his back!

There were several other amazing freaking furries involved in keeping me from getting knocked around  fluffyfuzzydice and  Deadeye445 and  Kira_Swiftpaw tried their damnedest to keep me laughing, and did. And kept the many wandering furries from smacking my foot with a full blown freaking body brigade *laughs* And they kept Miezekatze from dying in her suit... she and  emptyshadow had just gotten done killing it on the dance floor and THEN had to handle the evac in suits...

But everyone was just amazing. Have I said that enough? The hotel people worked to get us back to our rooms as fast as they could, the security people when I saw them in the hall the next day were STILL stopping me to check on me, and I have to say, I have some of the best fucking furry friends in the whole world.. and THAT makes me a very rich kitty. I love you guys *hugs tight* NEXT year... I'll be out of that chair and able to BOUNCE again so look out! Kitty hugs incoming!
