Just a quick start to November....Gotta write!

I used to love the rain. The sound of each drop hitting the leaves, the light pattern on the window. I used to love rainstorms, the thunder and lighting.
But he would say "I love the rain."
And I would say "and I love you."
Now each drop I hate. The darkening skies the threat of a storm, I hate how dull the sky get.
I hate how the grass and leaves stop looking real.
He would say "look at the leaves, the colors are so vivid!"
And I would say "that's nice, I love that you love this."
And that one storm that poured on us, soaked us to the bone, and we sat in the basement naked to the dark and dank. It was okay though, filled with laughter and joy and just so much love.
And now, I hate the rain because it will always remind me of him. It will always remind me of the love he had that was spoiled and lost. It will always be because we will always need the rain.
