Been around the fandom for who knows how long, and had to reflect on things and my life over the years. Things change often, as does my "sona of choice" which is now my original Shiba Inu sona. The OG sona, haha.
Part of:

- I prefer the company of men, but only really good friends or my mate can really... seal the deal?
- No time for it, maybe rarely with really close friends. Sorry, guys! I don't mind having adult oriented conversations, just the RP aspect of it I don't enjoy!

How to manage extreme season depression?
So, this Winter seems especially cruel due to pretty much the entirety of 2020, but in general, I have been diagnosed with chronic depression and chronic fatigue syndrome in the past (I feel like the latter probably causes the former, but that's beside the point). I can generally manage both of these very well unmedicated, but as the Winter months do make this worse, as with many people, things feel so much worse this year. While I do get the typical "sadness" effect from the depression, it's not the most troublesome part for me. The biggest issue is having next to zero energy and constantly running along on an empty tank. I also have insomnia, so when I DO get to sleep, I'll sleep 8-10 hours, wake up, and then 2 hours later be ready to go back to sleep and I mostly shy away from chatting with anyone because that takes up a lot of my energy (and just brings on more stress, tbh). I've also barely done the things I would normally do because I just don't have the energy or concentration. It's made me incredibly introverted for the last few weeks when I would normally be extraverted or somewhere in the middle. I struggle to do anything but eat, and then sleep more. There's more to the symptoms, but I think this is sufficient enough. I do think all of my issues are being exacerbated by "season depression.", however.
Being unemployed an entire year due to the outbreak, I don't have any access to anything medical, so that's the reason I haven't been to any doctors about it recently. I've been in the process of trying to get government help with medical but it's been a nightmare just trying to get access to my account due to the website being an absolute PoS and system admins have been extremely slow to respond. I know there are a lot of you out there that have had similar issues in the past and also probably don't always have access to medical facilities, so here's my question to anyone who does have any experience with this: Do you know of any ways (without medicine, of course) to keep Seasonal Depression in check without using medicine? I already work out when my body will let me, take vitamins, and try to force myself to do the things that I love, but even directly talking to anyone has become an insurmountable task lately, so if I don't respond to you, that's certainly why.
I'm not looking for medical advice or anything because I wouldn't ask for here (I would of course contact the proper professionals), but I'm mostly asking about steps you have taken to personally manage yourself when in a similar situation. It may not work for me, but I think it's worth giving it a shot. Thanks for your help and advice in advance!
