For those of you following on me on Bluesky, you are already aware that for the past few weeks I've been having some major computer problems with last week in particular being the worst because of all of the random shutdowns. It has gotten so bad to a point that it would shutdown right at bootup.

I took it in to a repair shop who said that all of the internals were working just fine. I spoke to some friends who gave me varying answers from "it's the Power Supply Unit (PSU)" to "you probably fried your motherboard when you hooked up your tablet right to the computer itself instead of the AC adapter." It's hard to say for sure what the real crux of the problem is. I know for sure this all started because of the tablet, but is my PSU failing? Is the motherboard fried? Could it actually be the graphics card?

Over the weekend I taught myself how to remove the PSU, learning where everything connects and how it all goes back together. It was actually really FUN! Now I know how to connect everything and it does feel like I learned a lot about how my computer works.

Yesterday, I hooked everything back up, making sure everything connects as it should and now....it's WORKING?!

I'm not relieved, I'm confused!!! D:

So...again, I don't want to get ahead of myself, but perhaps something was loose and not connected all the way. I was able to play video games yesterday and today without a random shutdown. I was also able to continue a commission without interuption.

So...we'll see. I'll continue to experiment but for now, maybe that was the only problem, I just didn't connect something correctly.
