My main "character" is an Akhlut. It is a creature of Inuit mythology that resembles a wolf crossed with an orca, though it is its own race, or species - kind of a merfur, except for being a full mammal that still has to come to the surface to breath.
Maelstrom grew up dreaming of adventures at sea, and loves the romantic idea of being a pirate, but she's generally too kind-hearted and gentle to actually do much piracy.
I've done some roleplay with different characters during my years in Second Life - The Wilds Sanctuary, Vemnyal, Drekiheim and Glanmire. RP'd and worked as staff in the Alteria sim, then Nuvaria (closed), Elyona, The Mystic Realms, and Corsair Cay.
I also write, though it's more for my own entertainment so I may or may not post the work online.
I do not do spontaneous RP with people I don't know, not interested in ERP.
Other characters:
chollythepanchilla
kinguyakki (half owner)

The Letter You'll Never Read
I saw this done on a forum once but never participated.
I just want to write a letter to someone who will never actually read it, but things that need to be said. So, here it goes:
I know that we were never really friends.
We pretended to be. You sometimes invited me to do things with you, but other times you seemed embarassed at the idea of even being seen with me. I really wasn't one of you and we all knew it.
Now, in hindsight, I appreciate your politeness, and your attempts to at least try to make me feel that I was included. . .even though we all knew that I would never be part of that close social circle that you enjoyed.
I was the oddball on the outside. You could invite me to things to make yourself feel better about including me once in a while, but when I did join you. . .I knew I wasn't really part of the group.
But you knew that, didn't you? You knew that I'd always be able to give you a ride if you needed one. I'd help you move in to a new apartment. I'd be the designated driver, even though I hate going to noisy bars and clubs, just because I wanted to help my friends get home safe.
When you were going through tough times or had a difficult decision to make, you let everyone know - including me - so that we could all help and support you in whatever way we could. We'd celebrate your birthdays and accomplishments.
I was always on my own, though. I had to fend for myself. I tried to convince myself you were my friends for a while, but I know that we never really were. There is no one but me looking out for me. None of you misses having me in your lives. You all have each other, and the lives you've made for yourselves with new friends and partners, and I am no longer needed.
So, keep doing what you're doing and every once in a while I might "Like" one of your posts on Facebook, and we can pretend we were ever friends.
Sincerely,
Me
