I've been trying to get an avatar up for this account, but I have NO clue how people do it. The very smallest file I can eek out of Photoshop is 28K and FA will only accept 25K or under.

How the hell do people get small files? I've tried every option available, and the very smallest my computer will go is 28K. And this is with NOTHING embedded, no profiles, no previews...nothing, at a resolution around 50 dpi at 40 pixels x 40 pixels and a color palette of about 3 colors. And 28K is the lowest I can get.

This doesn't seem right. I see people with animations, large icons, full color, crisp resolution... how the hell are they doing it? What am I missing here? Is there something bizarre about Photoshop on a mac platform that will never allow you to get a picture of any size or resolution under 28K?

Until I solve this one, I won't have an avatar. I remember going through this for my XianJaguar account too. I forget how I finally got my current avatar, but I remember it was hell to get it small, and in the end, it turned out looking awful.
