A collaboration between me and the talented musician
foxamoore
It's a story about 2 orphans who look out for one another, reminding each other the good times they had with their parents even though it was short-lived.

That's also one thing that disturbs me - not that i want to reduce anything from that wounderful picture!
But, what is he doing with the pictures there? Are they saying farewell to their parents by turning every photo into magical butterflies - and loosing their last
keepsakes?
I guess i'm pondering way too much there...sorry.

At a glance this pictures use of color and emotion is thought provoking and magical. the world is populated naturally and feels comfortable, we can immediately adopt the "magic" going through the room and its hard not to smile for that sake.
Upon looking closer we can begin to unfold the story that is taking place, from reading your description of the work in question, these are Orphans, suddenly many pieces of this artwork start falling into place like a puzzles. the set is a broken down house, falling to pieces, certainly not their own, from there we can see many of their personal belongings are still in boxes, what ever they had left after the accident. the news paper reading "fire; 2 killed" makes the chilling picture of their family photo illuminated by candle light all the more sad.
Suddenly this piece, full of joy and magic turns into a tail of an older brother trying to secure his younger brothers innocence, to keep him safe from reality as he himself struggles with what has happened. we see that the magic he is making is actually coming from the photos of their life before the accident, perhaps to show that despite all the bad, the true magic is all the years they had together as a family.
All in all this picture was inspiring, and beautiful. truly a piece to remember. most artists don't take the time to paint a story, mostly because it is very very difficult, but you, you have given me a beginning of joy (such as their life was prior to the accident), a sudden realization of sorrow, followed by a brighter outlook on how their life will continue. Thank you.

*lets tears run down my face* I just listened to the music while looking at the picture, and I have to say, it's perfect! The pure emotion, the story you two tell, and the way you hid little clues to the rest of the story....are just....are just.......spectacular. *wipes tears from my eyes* The music perfectly captures the feeling of the two lonely orphans looking back, and reliving all of their memories of their parents. *sniffs* Thank you for sharing this with us, you two have just created a perfect masterpiece here.
Amazing. I love all of it; the dilapidated setting, the palette, the expressions, some of the best candle light I've ever seen, the copy of the "Furry Times" right down to the container of instant noodles with the fork stuck in. Easily one of my favorite pieces so far this year.
I don't think I can really convey how much I like this background. We have a saying in Seattle, that you can't throw a rock without hitting a guitarist, but if you find a great drummer you never, ever let them go. Exceptional background artists are, IMHO, the drummers of this fandom.

Forgive me if I'm repeating what another person has said, but the emotions in this picture for me are just indescribable and vast.
To me, I saw two possible scenarios and can't decide which is correct...
At first I saw two characters, clearly very close. Maybe an older brother, taking care of his younger brother, in a desolate place, the older brother knowing only all too well of the life they have to live, while his younger brother, too young to understand lives like a kid should, happy and positive, living ignorant and oblivious to his surroundings. His brother knows this and wishes that this could never change so he never feels the pain he does.
Then upon thinking more about it, I saw a single person, alone in a world without hope, looking though pages of photos of a past, better life with fond memories. They hurt to much to dwell on, knowing it is a past that can never be retuned, and so it is time to let the memories go. The younger character is himself, the past spirit of a happy, joyous young boy without a care in the world, watching in awe as the pictures magically fly away as his current older self sheds a tear and says his goodbyes.
Pondering this literally brought a tear to my eyes. This is epic work.
