This was a gift from my friend MonoDragon (No longer on FA, goes by Ecohound now)! It was such a wonderful thing to watch him make it while streaming! He is such a generous and amazing artist, and a wonderful friend. I couldn't be happier to have him in my life. I hope he feels happy too <3!
Anyway, have some more information on Ringgar!
About Ringgar
Ringgar is easily described as a happy-go-lucky wolf. He has a very upbeat, positive attitude! He love meeting new friends, going new places, and having fun! But most of all, he love making people happy. Whether it be strangers or friends, he'll go the length to make them smile, because when those around him are happy, he is happy. He's not afraid to make a fool of himself in the process, too! Ringgar is also a very sensitive guy, and he feels a lot of empathy for his friends. He always has a shoulder for them to lean on. Ringgar doesn't like hurting others, so he tends to try to befriend everything, and avoid violence. Instead, he protects and helps those around him when in need. Due to his friendly disposition, he will tend to overstep others' personals boundaries, though he only means well. In addition, he does his best to look at the good inside of everyone he meets, though he tends to have some naivety. He struggles with a lurking sense of paranoia, both instinctive from living in the wild, and the social types of paranoia that people are familiar with. He also has quite the case of impostor syndrome, and will seek out the friends he makes for confidence and self-validation, as he has trouble making his own.
Ringgar is a master of magic. Specifically, Restoration and Alteration magic (Yes, this is based upon the magic of the Elder Scrolls series, though loosely based.) This means that he can do things such as heal himself and others, cure (most) diseases, shield himself with magical armor, transmute one object into another, change terrain, cause plant life to grow, levitate, teleport, create special distortions, polymorph himself and others, and more. He cannot, however, summon demons, sling fireballs or lightning, or anything of that sort. He is capable of trying to do so, but is far from competent with these types of magics, unlike the other types of magic listed above. This is because he actively chooses to avoid spells that are meant to hurt or cause violence, since he avoids aggression.
His magical capabilities stem from the cyan blood cells in his blood (thus, his blood is purple). In addition to normal red and white blood cells, these cyan blood cells help him channel magic from the plane of Aetherius, a plane entirely comprised of magic and as big and expansive as the universe. Thus, he has an almost limitless supply of magic to draw on, but his cyan cells can be worn out if he exerts himself too much. Years of practice with Alteration and Restoration magic have helped condition him to be able to use more powerful spells of those schools without wearing himself out easily.
Ringgar’s blood is toxic to normal cardiovascular systems. If his blood is injected into another, the body will begin to reject it and see it as foreign, much like what happens when a body receives an incorrect blood type. In addition, those whose bodies are not attuned to using magic like Ringgar’s is often consumed by the overload of mana from Aetherius, though such power can be used for a brief time beforehand. His blood is safe if ingested, however, as it is destroyed rather than directly put into the bloodstream. Ringgar considers his blood to be a dangerous substance, and will actively attempt to destroy or burn any blood he sheds.
In addition to Ringgar’s magical capabilities, he is also an expert in Alchemy (again, loosely based on The Elder Scrolls,) creating potions and poisons for all sorts of desired effects. He loves experimenting with Alchemy, and will often ask his friends to help him. He also occasionally attempts to use his potions in mechanical creations, which usually turn out to be… less stable than desired.
Ringgar generally doesn't wear clothing, with the exception of his scarf and goggles. His scarf is made of yarn, and is nothing special other than being an ordinary scarf. He tucks his portable lab capsule and some emergency potions in it, amongst a few other things. His goggles, however, are something special. With the press of a button, they can become 3-D glasses, much matching the colors of his rings. This setting also allows him to decipher any written language he comes across, useful for his expeditions into ancient temples and cairns.
Ringgar’s home is a vast and mysterious place, seemingly removed from earth (at least, he theorizes.) This place is near-free from civilization, containing only nature and the animals that flourish in it, like earth before man. Many common earth animals dwell in this place, but the majority are exotic, out-of-this-world beings one could only possibly imagine. Ringgar’s aptitude for making friends has allowed him to become friends with many of the animals of his home, even some of the plant-life as well. Imagine an anthropomorphic wolf Snow White, and you have the right idea.
While Ringgar’s home is host to many a biome and climate, the one he most commonly dwells in is known as ‘The Grove’. The Grove is a lush, deciduously-forested area where sunshine beams down from the canopy, bird sing, animals frolick, fresh streams run, and Ringgar plays with his feral forest friends. Other than the native animals, Ringgar is the only ‘resident of The Grove, though it can be easily accessed. In order to enter The Grove, all you have to do is enter any forest, and begin walking deep into the woods, off the beaten path. Eventually, you’ll notice a change in scenery: trees change, the sun becomes brighter, the sounds of nature begin to surround you, and the next thing you know, you’ve crossed into The Grove. Think of crossing into Narnia, but more subtle. Leaving The Grove is done in the same manner: just keep walking. Because of this, on occasion, people and animals from all over earth will stumble into the Grove, without knowing they are there. Ringgar will silently watch over these unwitting travelers from the canopy, and ensure they make it safely back to their destination, should they get lost. You can also guarantee that you will enter The Grove by walking through the forest if you are actively seeking for it. This is how Ringgar’s friends on earth come to visit him in his forest, and typically, he will find his friends before they find him.
Ringgar is always happy to see new faces wander into his home, but there are a few who are most unwelcome here. Namely, Loggers and Poachers.
If you wish to know more about Ringgar’s home, his magic, himself, or about myself and how I designed him, feel free to ask me!
Don't forget to give my buddy Mono some love for being extra kind and generous to do this for me. I am so grateful to be a part of such a loving community of furs. Thanks guys!
