My favourite Care Bear Cousin is Proud Heart Cat. However, I never felt that a cat would make a good Care Bear Cousin because cats are self centred and dignified, and they sort of look out for their own.
So I repurposed her a little as a patron saint of cats, and assistant to Bastet. She looks after all the living kitties and cares for them as best as she can. And when a cat or kitten passes on, she helps the kitty cross over into a better place.

Let me say upfront that if this upsets you or any of your followers, please accept my apologies. I can't stand the Care Bears. (shuddertailflick) Care Bears was a traumatic experience for me. I was in high school. Kid (12.5 years younger than me) brother was very much into them and not yet diagnosed with ADD. So, he'd play the movies and any episodes he had on VCR tape over and over and over and over and over until he'd wear out the tape. Mother wasn't much help as she dubbed them so kid bro wouldn't wear out the "originals" (taped off cable). I'd barricade myself in my room trying to drown out the TV in the living room 'cause I was tired of hearing, "We care...."
However, I will give the show credit for helping me score an A in speech class. One of our projects was we had to produce a news broadcast complete with commercial. For the commercial, I created an ad for Rambo Second Blood, Part 1 in 3-D (co-staring the Care Bears) (Rated PG for cartoon violence). Did a bunch of editing using the VCR and cassette tapes to create sound snippets of Rambo shooting-up Care-a-lot including speeding up the scene from Rambo II where he's shooting-up the Viet-Cong camp with his grenade-tipped arrows to make the panicking soldiers high voiced enough to pass for panicking Care Bears. Very, very therapeutic for this, then high schooler.
To this day, I can't stand them. Got my revenge on kid brother a couple Christmases ago. I found The Care Bears Movie in a discount DVD bin. I gave it to him with the "Care Bears Drinking Game" instructions:
Sip when the word "Care" is uttered.
Guzzle during a Care Bear Stare
Finish your drink if the Stare fails (which if I recall does happen once)
(Warning, do not attempt to drive a car or operate heavy equipment immediately after playing this game.)
He shuddered when he opened the gift. I'm guessing he's finally outgrown them now 30 years later.
