This year at Midwest FurFest I wanted to do something different in addition to the MFF2015 Con Video. Within the last few weeks before MFF came, I had the idea of wanting to do a furry music video of my own. The last one, "Compass" was a joint collaboration with SheppyMomma and involved a choreographed group dance. For this, I wanted to do something a little bit closer to the heart - something sincere and intimate.
I put out a request for a fursuit couple that would be able to play the roles of the two main characters. Got some responses and ultimately Trooper and Pizza Wolf were selected (also, finding a couple with movable jaws was not easy!). Storyboarding began Sunday night of the week of MFF. The next day, I flew into Colorado on a business trip and stayed there till Wednesday. Worked on finishing the storyboard in the evenings while in my hotel till Thursday morning when I headed out to MFF.
Over Friday and Saturday of the con, I worked with Trooper and Pizza Wolf on filming the day and night sequences. The shots were grouped so that they could be filmed in the same location at the same time. In addition, these groups were then separated by equipment used, to minimize the time needed to change filming gear.
There was one scene involving the elevator which was filmed on the 29th floor of the Executive Suites. I remember that we had an interesting time trying to get the right elevator door to open. There were 3 doors, only 2 of which we figured could open (3rd seemed to be disabled at night). The middle door was the one we wanted to film with but trying to get that to open was just pure luck at times. Depending on timing, sometimes the other would open (we did solve this by.. uh... "delaying" the elevator as it went back down :). And if the shot didn't go well, Pizza Wolf and I would find ourselves riding the elevator up and down several floors until we got back to the 29th (it didn't help when people entered the elevator to stop at other floors).
I must commend Trooper and Pizza Wolf on their patience and dedication - they poured the heart and soul into it! THANK YOU! I can recall the countless number of times we needed to do retakes because of the sheer number of people in the convention that just got in the way of the camera. There was one particular scene that became a high traffic zone within minutes (probably a panel finished?) and we literally did at least 20+ takes because people just kept running into the camera. Thank you so much to Fenrir Sabre who happened to stop by and give us a much needed hand by holding off traffic so that we could finish shooting the scene. And also thanks to both Apari and Lifrin for helping out with some of the scenes.
We filmed throughout various times of the day - all the way till 4:30am! I admit, we were pretty crazy :) But it was the best time to film. There were a lot less people roaming around the hotel at that time (the ones still left in the hotel lobby were probably zombies... don't they sleep?!). The outdoor night scenes were completed between 2:00-4:30 in the morning. I had my arm sleeves on at the time and that helped with the brisk 40F weather, but it was still freezing! Walking on the grass near those trees... ick. There were areas that were soggy and mushy. Not nice to step in or have camera equipment lying about.
One thing that not many people know about.... I actually lost my entire storyboard on Saturday It was drawn out by hand on paper and I had it in my back pocket after finishing one of the shoots. Must have fallen out at some point. When I found out, tried retracing my steps and checking Lost & Found with Con Ops. Nope. Gone. I remember being pretty horrified at this point. Luckily the day sequences were completed already and only the night sequences needed to be shot. I ended up spending 2 hours redrawing the storyboard for the night scenes from memory. This was a lesson learned! In the future, I should scan my work and have a soft-copy just-in-case. Thankfully in the end, despite the problems, all needed sequences were filmed.
Music is a cover of Adele's "Hello" and is performed by Colin and Caroline. These two make a wonderful duet which was the basis for the story of this music video. Please check out their website for more of their amazing work!

The camera, the movements, the lighting and the sceneries. Its all on a VEEEERY high level. You absolutely nailed that. Awesome video.I really love how you pulled that off.
May I ask what camera you are using?
Only one thing I would recommend not to do in future fursuit projects. (But also just my opinion ;), of course you can do it like you want). Don't let the fursuits move their mouths for singing the song. Thats the only thing that feels kind of out of place. Because the fursuits have too less movements on the heads to make it believable with the singing. But seriously. You have a brilliant sense of editing and camera angles. Keep it up, its awesome. ^^ Instant like and fave.

It sure would still be one. There is no rule which says there HAS TO BE somebody singing or also there has to be NOBODY that sings. Music videos don't have rules. Otherwise you could argue on that point and say... hmm well its not a music video because no one is dancing here. I heard that alot. Especially with furry music videos.
Oh, so you're the one who made this video! I can't remember how I found it... I think I was just browsing furry videos on YouTube. I really liked this video, but I'm not on YouTube yet (that is, I don't have an account--I'm waiting until I have videos to upload), so I couldn't Favorite it there. So I'll Favorite it here instead!
