(This is kinda long and personal to a degree, feel free to skip over this if you don't want to read it. Enjoy the birds though!!)
LOOK AT MY LITTLE BABIES. THEY HURT SO MUCH.
Well they did when I got them almost two months ago :D which was a great experience actually huehuehue
So, I know they're the typical first tattoo for females of our day and age, but I like to think that my reasons to get them are my own.
First, the birds. Humming Birds. One of my favourite birds, and one of the ones that I admire the most for being able to live as they do. They polinate flowers as they zip from one patch to another, with their wing beats going at somewhere between 70-80 per second. Feisty little nuggets, and their eggs are the size of tictacs. No joke.
Now, the number of birds, six. As some of you may know, I come from a family with six kids; one boy, five girls. I am the fourth born, the third girl, with my brother being the oldest, two older and two younger sisters. Hence the reason why I got six of them done; so I can somehow keep my family with me at all times.
And now, the colour choices. The Spiritual Medallions from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. For a few years my siblings and I have jokes about each of us getting one of the medallions as a family tattoo. But my brother doesn't really want to get a tattoo, so the idea was scrapped. However, I was able to incorperate the forst Zelda game I have ever watched and played in my own tattoo. Not only does this make a reference to my childhood gaming experience, I also know that this makes me believe that my family is like the seven sages. Once all of our power is combined, we are virtually unstoppable. No matter where we are, we are strong.
I wish to have all of my tattoos mean something personal to me, even if no one really sees it that way or if I explain things poorly.
I really love my family, even if the last few years have been hard, I know that we are unbreakable, and I know that we will always find a way.
