OK HERE'S THE SCOOP! I commissioned
whiteraven90 recently to do a graphite tigress for my portfolio. A couple weeks ago, she sent me several thumbnail sketches to choose from. This one, http://sta.sh/0vezo4okots knocked my socks off and I just had to ask her if I could do a color pencil version and she graciously said yes. I really can't put words to how I feel about the piece but some of the comments on it will work.

Yes, only Polychromos color pencils. But I do cheat a little. On much of the background area and places like her clothes where there is large areas of plane color, I will use a smudge stick dipped in Turpenoid and use it to blend and smooth out the colors. It is quite a bit like painting. I hate the graininess that color pencil often produces on large areas.

I've seen that you have been fairly active of late and have been meaning to contact you. As you may have noticed, I have been very quite art wise for many months. Various issues but nothing serious though they all add up.... then there was the roll-over car accident I was in earlier this week. I was just a passenger and no-one was hurt. A fluke thing, steering wheel locked up going down hill on a gravel road and the car slowly turned left while sliding on the rocks. went into the ditch and slid to the bottom. then slowly rolled over.
Anyway, I will note you today.

I've seen that you have been fairly active of late and have been meaning to contact you. As you may have noticed, I have been very quite art wise for many months. Well, yes, I'm no longer ill and I hope things are going to stay that way for a while. :) And yes, i did notice that you haven't been drawing much, however, I wasn't too worried since you were still updating your favourites every now and then - meaning you were at least well enough to be online occasionally. :) I'm terribly sorry to hear about the car accident and other issues, though. I hope you're doing better now.
Anyway, don't worry about notes until you're fine again. :)
