I'm currently working on the collectible cards that I promised my founders of my Myre Indiegogo campaign. They will be shipped out together with their copies of "Myre". This is the front side of Varug's collectible card and probably one of the brightest pictures I've ever painted.
I'm norally used to draw darker themed pictures with dark skies. But pictures and documentaries of Patagonia have always inspired me to connect deserty mountains with snowy peaks. It's absolutely gorgeous! Ever since I've been really high up in the mountains of Colorado as well, I noticed the extremely clear and dark blue skies there. It's hard to miss when you travel on high elevated places. Nothing is more fun to draw than this.
And here is an update regarding Myre - Chronicles of Yria:
So I got a new update on the print progress yesterday. I probably became a little too unpatient myself and called the printers company yesterday to get a little heads up on when I can expect the delivery. Their service is amazing as I always get to talk with their boss directly.
She explained to me what happened during the embossing of the hardcover. The reason why the production is currently stretching itself so much is because of their embossing machine which had an issue with a deviation on the logo and fonts. The platen of the machine began to slip away after the first run through of the covers. Now, they're waiting for an update from the person who is going to fix the problem. The embossing slips just a tiny, tiny bit from the graphics but that could be enough to decrease the quality of the entire product. They don't want me or you to be unhappy about that, which is the reason why the cover is taking such a long time.
I'm really happy that they are so accurate with their work. They want it to be a beautiful and perfectly manufactured book for everyone to enjoy. If everything with the platen machine fails though, they have a ton of other refinement options to give the hardcover look a special shine. I'm really thankful for your patience. While Myre is in production for the while it takes, I myself began to worry a lot about the time it took. But then I realised that they're talking about the cover, which basically means that it is the very last step of their part into bringing the book to you! :)
Thank you so much for your patience and for your support! <3
