Hello everyone!  Balaa and I are proud to present you with yet another artwork for our upcoming novel, The Leopard Sun!

The painting we are sharing with you today is titled Ocean Dreams. Ruya, the one depicted in this painting, sits upon the shore and watches the Moon rises above the horizon. The loss of her daughter, Tahaya, had shattered her family - but what pained her more than that was witnessing what Hawa had become. Jowana, Ruya's first-born daughter, vehemently rejected Nyota, her adopted son. Amidst the chaos at home and in her heart, Ruya needed to find an anchor, and above all, hope...

The ocean is one of the thematic elements in The Leopard Sun; it is where several of the characters go to seek solace after an emotional trauma, and although its near-mystical quality is never explained, it probably doesn't have to be. Perhaps on some level, as we gaze upon the foamy waves and listen to their gentle lull, we all remember it as the place whence we came.
