AHL MAX Series Number 18 of 30: Skates - Chicago Wolves
Chicago's known for their jazz, blues, and swing. In that same city (or in nearby Rosemont, Illinois, to be exact) are the Chicago Wolves. Skates is the Wolves mascot. He's a wolf who sings and howls to his city's music. (If the St. Louis Blues stayed affiliated with the Wolves, this would've made too much sense!)

Yeah, and the stories of how this cash-strapped league operated are even crazier. They had a no-begging rule because the players were all underpaid and some were completely unprepared for the cost of living in the cities where they played. All that being said, I secretly wish in my wildest dreams that RHI would come back.It would have to be better-run and play in smaller venues but it could be done.
There is a MLRH for those interested, but the pay is minimal, there is no exposure, and almost nobody knows about it. If it were to have survived the new millenium my best guess would be that the RHI would be to the NHL what Arena Football was to the NFL.What a shame that it never lived.
