Billie's adult stage: Clicky click.
There is going to be a lot of text. I feel like I need to ramble, because...I can. I'm sure there is at least one person out there who cares about this stuff, right?
...right?
Anyways.
I've been inspired to design my own Evols, which are genetically created beings from a manga called 'Zetman.' (Info on Evols here.)
Billie starts life as a grub. He, along with a few other insectoid Evols, were created for a wealthy scientist. The insectoid Evols were genetically modified to be docile (as much as possible anyways) so they would be easier to manage.
During his early larval life, Billie was taken care of by a stick insect Evol who he affectionately called Grampy Sticks (though he pronounced it like "Gwamy Ick.") Sadly, the stick insect Evol had a defect which caused him to age rapidly: he died during his third year of life. Thankfully, before he passed away there were three other Evols brought into Billie's life: a mantis, a dragonfly and a mole cricket. The mantis and dragonfly Evols put the most time into caring for Billie in place of Grampy Sticks.
There is more to his story, but I'll probably talk more about it later. I'll also be posting Billie's adult form soon after this one. :D
By the way, the mantis is my Evol form, cus mantids rock and I gotta insert myself into everything LOLZ. (Evol Roz, or Mantis Roz? Hm, yeah.)
Also, the fact that the mantis's arms look different in this image is not an error. Evols can reasonably shift their form to better aid them in doing things. Here is an example from the manga itself: From pincers to hands. Now, as for how the guy in this page is carrying his cellphone IN his hip, that's a different story. Personally, I get a kick out that whole scene. Seeing something so inhuman talking a cellphone makes me cackle. He just needs a Hello Kitty key chain on that thing and I would die from laughter.
---
As for the Zetman manga itself: it's slow in some parts, but it has nice monster/creature designs and awesome artwork. (I'm serious about the designs. I mean...jeez, just look at this dude ---> DO WANT. )
If you want to check out the manga it is avalible to read online. Warning though; this stuff is totally NSFW. It's got gore, rape, rainbows and all that fun stuff. You've been warned.

Something's wrong with me- as soon as i saw the cover at the wiki link, I went over to Onemanga... and couldn't find it. Then I clicked your other link, and there it was. The character design and detail looks beyond incredible, but I'm here to comment on your work, not Katsura-sensei's.
Grubs and maggots make me squirm like crazy, so the fact that Billie comes off as adorable here is quite a feat. I'm really curious to see the mole cricket one, have you drawn them yet?
The "EEEEE!" image cracked me up. You managed to capture very typically childlike behavior in an unusual form, working in limited space and detail.

I've done some work on the design for the mole cricket character, but I am without a scanner and won't be home until early next week. So far he looks very ugly. XD (To me though that isn't a bad thing.) I have yet to come up with a name for him, but it will be similar in structure to Billie's name. An example would be something like Sammie, Kennie, and so on.
Thank you. I'm surprised how so many people have commented on how "cute" grub Billie is. I've even gotten the same reaction with friends, family and relatives, but I think this only because he's just a drawing on paper. I wonder how everyones faces would look if I had introduced them to a living, child-sized grub instead... (Actually, I wouldn't dare show him to anyone except those I trusted most. I'd fear for his safety if I did otherwise.)
