Name: Pigil
Species: Synthetic Koopa
Role: Micro-Autonomous
Length of Assimilation: Several Decades
---
Pigil's backstory is a rather dark one. The body he inhabits was originally developed as a weapon of espionage, with the intent of packing a powerful body with a decent load out of weaponry in a body that could pass as an organic.
However, the convincing network of living synthetic tissue mixed with mechanical parts confused the various AIs that were developed to control the body. The idea of a mechanical creature with organic functions caused them to be unable to process the concept of 'living'. As such, the shady organization developing the body sacrificed one of the less important researchers on the project to harvest his mind.
The core created from the intensive remapping was a success. However, the result was a personality that was an identical match for the researcher, along with his memories. This new personality was terrified of its new existence, recognizing the faces of those responsible for killing its mind's original owner.
A rampage ensued afterward, as Pigil tore through the under-armed research facility and escaped. Regret hit immediately, as several were harmed in Pigil's escape. He tried to re-enter society, but found himself crippled by fear and anxiety as a fully armed warmachine trying to blend in.
Until he met Poly.
Poly was as mystified with her compatibility with Pigil's body as he was. The lab grown synthetic skin responded well to her assimilation, as well as the mental core. Poly knew immediately that Pigil desired calm. He wanted peace and desired that Poly keep him restrained, so that she could stop him and he wouldn't need to fear the danger that his body posed to others around him.
Poly finds a lot of benefit to Pigil's assimilation. Able to use him as an interface between other machines and herself, when she had only been restrained to organic creatures. She can find control of other machines, but Pigil is a required interface between them and herself. As such, she doesn't attempt to assimilate complete machines, as the strain is often too overbearing to hold for prolonged periods.
Poly's benefit to Pigil allows her natural assimilation of his skin to grow and reform the synthetic pieces into new parts. Pigil's body is heavily modifiable, something that Poly makes use of fairly often. She takes the majority of control over Pigil's movements, not always to his taste. Poly has also discovered the method required to modify portions of Pigil's personality, with the application of fully synthetic cores that could change his voice, his behavior, and his attitude. Oftentimes it's more for the benefit of the persons outside of Pigil than Pigil himself, but the koopa is often happy afterward for benefiting someone instead of hurting them.
