So I haven't really done much perler art stuff before? It always looked kind of fun and methodical, I guess, so I wanted to try making some things.
I actually made a Tracer and a Reaper one before making Reinhardt, but I've since lost them (moving and all that). Those two I made exactly like the pixel sprays in game, but with Reinhardt, I wanted to try shading more. You can see the original spray (both the original and the perler are inverted from normal, I know) in the top corner there for reference.
This thing was huge. I made it 1:1 scale to the pixel spray. For reference, there's a clear thumb tack under his chest piece holding him on my wall currently, if you don't know what size perler beads are.
I may do some more large perler art in the future of stuff I've actually drawn out. I've got one in the works, just waiting to get the beads for it.

Oh wow this is amazing! Reinhardt is my absolute favorite Overwatch character so it's always nice seeing him get some love.
How does someone even buy this many perler beads? Do they sell huge packs of colors somewhere? I used to do super small perler crafts as a kid but I only remember getting the beads in tiny packs with kits (though, to be fair, my parents mostly got me the for-children sets). They were fun to do with friends over ^^

Ah! Thank you! ;v;
I love Reinhardt so much. He's such a precious grandpa.
I bought my beads from a website called Artkal. They have some nice sets of colors. I mainly used the greyscale set with this one, and needed two sets to complete him due to his size. Perler doesn't have as much of a variety of color as Artkal does, though. Some of my beads I sorted out of those huge variety tote containers though. I think they were like... 10k bead containers or something, and they're all mixed together? Something like that. I can't remember how many were actually in the container, honestly. I may have blocked it from my memory because of how long it took to sort them, haha.

Dang yeah that's messed up the packs just toss all the colors into one bag like that lmfao. I don't even want to think about how long it took just organizing all that. That's really cool though!! Thanks for sharing the details with me, maybe some day I'll have to give perler beads a go again!
Yeah, it was kind of crazy sorting it all out. I still have a container I haven't finished sorting because I just got tired of doing it, haha. But that was with Perler brand ones. I'm sure Artkal as some variety packs on their website, but I just bought packs of single colors. They have some pretty neat deals on there sometimes, and you can buy groups of colors. I primarily stuck with a greyscale color pack for Reinhardt, which got me I think four or five different greys, along with white and black, if I remember right.
You totally should do them sometime! I'd love to see what you make with them!
