The Rules of Birds
1. If you like it, it's mine.
2. If I can reach it, it's mine.
3. If it's in my beak, it's mine.
4. If I can take it from you, it's mine.
5. If I had it a little while ago, it's mine.
6. If it's mine, it must never appear to be yours in any way.
7. If I'm chewing something, all the pieces are mine.
8. If it looks like mine, it's mine.
9. If I saw it first, it's mine.
10. If you have something and you put it down, it automatically becomes mine.
11. If you give it to me, and you have one, I want yours instead (because it's mine).

12. If it's broken/gross/undesireable, it's yours. Unless you fix it, then it's mine again.

Do you train your birds to be cute or do they come like that? I want to buy birds where you get them x3

They come pretty sweet but loving/spoiling them doesn't hurt. I bought Riddle from an awesome breeder, and the other were hand-reared at a bird supply shop. Hand-rearing is such a gamble though. If you don't continue socializing them with people/hands after weaning, they revert back to being "wild". Gem has done just that.

Oh dear :S Poor Gem. Is there any way to train them back? Will they pick up behaviour from the more social birds they're with?

I wish Gem would learn better manners from Tango, but it's a no go. There is a chance I could train him into tolerating being touched, but I think he will never really enjoy it. He doesn't even let Tango preen him most of the time. Just a personality quirk I guess. But they still enjoy each other's company.

As long as he's not violent I guess it's okay. <:3

He's violent towards me. xD And sometimes he bullies his cagemate, but you're going to have bickering no matter how awesome of friends they are.

Oh, he doesn't usually sit on heads. Shoulders are his thing, so you would have to crouch. xD When my Dad or my older brother come to my room, I can feel Riddle tremble. But once they're my height or shorter he calms down. What a weird bird.

Must just be a nature thing. Animals stand up straight and puff themselves up to appear bigger and scare things, so maybe making yourself smaller is a way of saying "I mean you no harm"

Good point. That's probably a dominant factor in it. :3

I was watering Casper (the African Gray of death and finger-removal), and as SOON as I held the hose up to his cage, he latches onto it and starts biting and feeling it.
I didn't get it back for a while, lol

xDD Birds have strange ways of amusing themselves.

And Cato is our Hawk-Headed parrot who is more like "The little brother I love but never wanted."
His favorite passtimes are walking around his cage upside down, and having screaming contests with me.

People often wonder why I find animals more interesting than humans... XD

Animals have more impromptu reactions and also have lots of selfish desires and goals. They're fun and they keep me guessing! xD But there are people that are pretty awesome too.
