Well you see I've been wanting to start up a Kickstarter for a video game idea I have but I'm not really sure where to start and I know you are using Kickstarter for the OwO pins. I see tons of other games on Kickstarter and they usually have already have a basic buildmade and models already made for the games but I am a lone artist which means the most that I can do is backgrounds and character design as well as some story writing. but I'm mainly worried because with all the other games already having basic builds and being able to show gameplay the most that I can show is just character design and maybe a few level conceptsand I'm afraid in comparison to other games it might not seem as good which means it might not be able to reach its goal just because of the lack of people's interest.
So when it comes to Kickstarter games, you /actually/ have to have a proof-of-concept to show people. It's against Kickstarter TOS to not have a proof of concept and your project could get terminated. I've also backed too many games that just never came out, or they made an entirely different game than the one they advertised.
My honest to goodness suggestion here would to be to hold off on the kickstarter until you have a working demo of it, and then give it a shot. Too many people all with "ideas" and no way to bring those ideas to life. Stand out from the crowd by having yours be a real, tangible thing!
If at that point it still fails to get funded, don't give up on it. These pins I've had to try and kickstart twice. The first time my goal was too high and I was too "green", but now I've kinda carved my little niche and people can trust me when they see me working on a project!
I hope this advice was helpful! <3
