There can be beauty and wonder amid all sorrows.
A topical glimpse of a scene from the next Volume of Myre. A caravan of refugees meandering through the barren lands of Yria. Their eyes dull and weary from all struggles. The harsh grounds wounding their soles from all the walking.
Yet between the struggle, there can be small glimpses of beauty amid all the sorrows.
I wanted to take the chance to make studies of colour themes and narrative for my next big Myre project. A project of this scope always requires a lot of preparation. And getting ready for it for me means to delve right in and take you along into it.
Not much is left until I'm fully prepared. It feels like taking a very deep breath before a dive. :)
There will be more.
Stay well and find beauty in the small wonders of life.

Seeing the world through a child's eyes, they probably see more beauty and innocence than we realize 😮The amount of detail and care you've put into this is remarkable. You see the use of shadows to reflect the harshness on the adults and I love how you've use a beam of light on the baby to highlight his/her fascination. BEAUTIFUL⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I look at this artwork, and I can HEAR all the sounds. The big steps of these big creatures carrying the heavy luggage, the wind, the sand, the people. I also can't help but think these big creatures make noise like wildebeest, haha. I can also see the whole scene as a moving picture the longer I look at this. You're really good at capturing movement, the feeling of being in the middle of something. :)
awww such a beautiful piece, though i can't help that mother is gonna be in for a heart attack soon with her pup jumping off her back for that butterfly. hehehe i can see it now personally. :) still wonderful piece really gives you a sense of sadness and yet beauty. ^.^ thank you for sharing this one.
The marvel and innocence of childhood... You depicted it so well! The kid is lost in the beauty of the moment, forgetting the sorrows.
The rest of the scene is incredible too! The expressions, the noise and dirt of an exodus, the weariness and sadness.
It's an incredibly cute and sad image at the same time, very moving Can't wait for the next volume to know more.

After reading Haunter of Dreams, I have no doubts about that!
(speaking of HoD, I kept forgetting, but I wanted to say that you made the right choice in not releasing HoD one page a week. Not reading it all in one go would have indeed ruined the experience. Like Disney's Fantasia, it's a kaleidoscope of wonders. I read it all in one go, and after the rollercoaster of emotions I read it again slower to delve deeply in all the wonderful art )

Oh thank you so much for your encouragement. It was indeed a very difficult decision for me to make back then. But thankfully, most of the readers agreed with the same reasons as yours.
I am truly so happy that HoD carried you to another place and that you enjoyed the story, too! It#s really close to my heart, so seeing your thoughts on it makes me very happy. :)

Oh alrighty, I look forward to seeing that when it's ready, however long it may be. In the mean time, I will still enjoy your critters plenty as you share them here! I hope to see a full body image of them some day. Thanks for taking a moment to get back to me.
