Speaking about chuffing- I related the chuffing concept to a friend of mine who totally did it at her local zoo when their trip went out for the day. Everyone was doing the stupid roaring thing, and she simply chuffed- and the tiger chuffed back! Everyone was greatly shocked. Silly humans, they have no capacity to understand the rest of the world isn't like they are. XD

People can't seem to get beyond either the "roar, scary" concept or the "cuddly, kitty-wiity" concept. It's one of the reasons why I started wearing headphones to listen to music when I'm at the Toronto Zoo...hearing the utter failure of people in understanding and respecting the animals there makes it difficult to enjoy the day.

OH man, do I have stories for you! I go and draw there so often.. and the sights and sounds! I have this one awesome photo of ALLL the school kids, pressed up against the glass and all screaming and howling and trying to get the Baboon's attention.. and it's sitting, so unamused with it's back to them with the most serious face EVER. But my stories are usually "happy ending" ones where i either have a tongue-in-cheek remark, or the animal does something to make everyone go ""

Mad? Really? I was aiming for neutral... I guess the eye patches didn't work well. XD

What a cool, cartoony style! I love the stylized proportions - so cartoony but they definitely say 'tiger' with the heavy head and massive shoulders. I'll enjoy looking through this series.

I was really trying to push the obvious anatomy "stereotypes" on these. Kinda like to mix it up with my work- form realistic to really cartoony to ethnic. :)

I was deliberately targeting the anatomy on each animal that characterizes them, both physically and characteristically - I'm glad people are reading what I wanted to convey!
