While I'm revising/revamping/reviving old character designs, I stumbled upon the original concept art for the race that went on to have such esteemed representatives as Officer Rufus and Pizza Boy, a literal *Chili Dog*.
15 years later, I decided to take a shot at reincorporating the chili pepper cannon into the character design, it fires burning-hot seeds in a manner similar to a shotgun.
A lot of the early designs for Geoterrans included semi-magical weapons like this, that just sorta came into existence when they successfully metamorphosed into the form that included said weapon. More recently, I decided that those with such "natural weapons" (such as this chili coyote's shotgun, the archer jackal's bow, the lancer dog's spears or the Gehenna Spear used by Chance Whitefang's race) could be conjured and dismissed at will. Additionally, such projectile weapons generate energy-based ammunition over time, sometimes infused with elemental attributes based on the wielder's capabilities and attributes.

Magic!
Although, in nature, there are plants that can and do actually eject their seeds forcefully. The "squirting cucumber" (probably don't Google that one) and "dynamite tree" come to mind.
Applying the same basic principle and combining it with a bit of the ol' Geoterran Magic Fighting 'Mons magic makes a plant-based weapon entirely plausible, and something I should probably be exploring more as the "grass" element used to actually include a few plant-animal hybrid creatures--a cactus-like hedgehog design comes to mind, although I also have this undeveloped generic canine-like creature with a random assortment of plant matter growing off its back, and a vine snake I drew exactly once.
