SS Edmund Fitzgerald
On November 10, 1975, the Great Lakes freighter, Edmund Fitzgerald was sailing through a rogue storm as it made its way through Lake Superior. The ship sank with all 29 men. It continues to be to largest ship to sink in the Great Lakes. It’s very well known by Gordon Lightfoot’s famous Ballard, “Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald”.
I decided to do a tribute to the men and the ship today on the 45 Anniversary of the sinking. I think I’ll do some ship art in the near future.
