I've been following blue-paper for a while now, ever since I found some of his inked drawings and was immediately gripped by his poses and artistic style. When he opened up for commissions, I was quick to jump in line.
As I often do, I asked for a commission before I knew what I wanted, so when it came time to say, I had to scramble for an idea quick. The cool thing about the FBA is that an idea is never far away, and after the immense success I had with the
o-kemono Face-Off commissions, I figured I should get something that featured a matchup I hadn't included. The Mayors/Alphas series didn't have a pic yet, and I really liked the way blue-paper drew canines, so I asked for something between my two canine power forwards, Charles Yotechuk and Lenny Hicks.
And he came up with this.

Dang those mags come out of production FAST!!!
I think the Blanks stand a better chance of upsetting the Thrust, or the Typhoons upsetting the Taproots. Alphas just won one game, and they are actually supposed to defend their home court yanno. Still, it's gotta be a huge mental boost for the A's. :)

Heh-- yeah, kind of ridiculous on the publishing end, especially with the rapid pace of the FBA Playoffs, but had the artwork lying around and found a good excuse to make this cover. Take it as canon if you want, but it doesn't have to be.
Totally, blue-paper completely blew me away with this one.
