I have to admit, I like the ambiguity of this ending. Aggretsuko is a show that acknowledges that relationships in real life typically takes time and effort and don't always go the way you expect it to. As such, if Fenneko and Haida were banging each other on the side while Haida works on his relationship with Retsuko, I could totally see an episode ending like this.
