Spotlight: Sweetheart Color
And this is the color version. I am still working on getting background things, like water, right. But, I am learning. Anyway, for folks who read the latest installment, you understand the depth of her emotion in this scene as much as you reasonably can.

This is part of the reason she was so scared. She isn't Boomer. He can stand in the water and even if it surged, it wouldn't be able go much higher than his chin. But, Sweetheart is little and trying her very best, giving all she has, to protect her sisters.
You know, I thought about the clarity of the water. There is no pollution in their world, so water, except for swamps or bayou's water, is clear/blue. But, I'm happy to ask for your opinion, do you think the water should still be a bit murky? I can go back and change that without much fuss.

Yes! The reason is that during floods, the water will pick up soil and dust from the ground (especially soil), and any dust that's on objects. Any destroyed structures will contribute more dust and grit into the water as debris, and that makes it cloudier (turbidity).
The debris is also the source of a lot of pollutants like oils, and sewage systems will be flooded and exposed, which is why the infection is such a threat from injuries when immersed in floodwater.
Accordingly, virtually all floods (except for extremely fast flows which would throw up white mist and be unsurvivable) will have a brown tinge to them.

Hmm...I see. Luckily, they do not use oil, gas, or coal (everything is renewable energy with the sole exception of timber) and their sewage system is deep underground and processed elsewhere. It's refined, the water is extracted and cleaned and the remaining waste is destroyed, so that should help, a little.
Some houses were destroyed, either entirely, or partially, but they are wooden, bamboo, clay, or a combination. Only large buildings like hospitals, schools, emergency rescue stations and the like are made of concrete/brick. So, it looks like the biggest contributor to the tinge in color is broken homes and soil. ...also bodies, but I'm not dealing with that, right now. It's hard enough that I am going to have to address them, at all. I'm using my artistic license to suspend some facets of reality. That will come up later. But, as for the rest, thank you, that helps a lot. I will tweak things a little bit later.
