For some silly lore stuff, her designation name does have meaning. "Cath" is short for "Cathode", which is a fun naming scheme related to electrical lingo. The first number "3" is her starting designation, version 3. The "R" shows that she is of foreign make, presumbly Russian. The "λ" symbol is currently unknown, though it could point towards her personality type. The "N" after that stands for nanny, which she is specifically designed to be. The number "9" at the end is her default height in imperial feet.
