Inside what was once a glorified throne room was mostly covered in dust. A room filled with the brightest lights was now left in darkness. Some spiders crawling down from the ceiling and towards the floor to grab whatever insect was trapped in their webs. A room that had been abandoned for nearly ten years. Ten years of silence until…
BAM! Pit-pat-pit-pat-pit-pat-pit-pat BAM!
The doors suddenly kicked down revealing an extended leg with a horizontal shoe. The leg lowered back to the ground revealing the former ruler of this throne sporting his black leather jacket and sunglasses. He walked closer to his throne room and sported a grin showing his fangs. He looked around to see the tattered curtains, holes and stains on his throne as well as the cracks spreading across the ceiling and floor. He walked closer towards the steps leading to that chair and right there on the cushion was his crown. As he stepped to that middle step, he could finally declare after so long,
“Home sweet home”. Yes, Scourge the Hedgehog finally reentered his throne. For a while, it seemed that room would’ve been abandoned forever…but that was no longer true. Scourge leaned closer to that crown and picked it up. As he held it across his chest, he heard a familiar voice from behind,
“Hey, I wouldn’t get too comfortable yet.” Scourge turned around slowly holding his crown though sporting that cocky grin responding to a certain blue hedgehog,
“Heh, figured it’d take you this long to find me slow-hog.” Said Scourge as he stared at his doppelgänger from the Mobius universe. Sonic stood casually with his hands on his hips and shrugged with “Still same lame Scourge with the same lame jokes. Would’ve been here sooner but some others wanted to join the party.”
Immediately after, Shadow appeared right next to Sonic. Shadow stood with his arms crossed against his chest staring at the green hedgehog. “Tch…so the weakling finally came out of hiding.” Said Shadow only to follow up with a warp ring appearing next to Sonic’s other side and stepping out was another familiar hedgehog coming from a distant future.
“I knew a sudden shift in the future had to come from him.” Said Silver addressing Scourge across from all three of them. Silver standing next to Sonic with his fists closed adjacent to each respective side and arms down. His body slightly turned to his right as Sonic and Shadow maintained their poses emitting their confidence while staring at Scourge. Scourge still stood on the steps of his throne but widened his grin staring back at each hedgehog.
“Heh-heh-heh-heh-heh…I had a feeling that this was the perfect day to come back…” said Scourge as he slowly placed his crown back on his head. “I can start my reign with the so-called saviors of Mobius kneeling at my feet.” Following his comment with the rise of his hand and motioning his finger to bring it on.
Sonic, Shadow and Silver not breaking their stance as Sonic responded with “We’ll only kneel when we pick you up from the ground.”
Soon after, all three heroes of Mobius ran towards the green hedgehog. Scourge never broke his stance or even flinched at the sight of Sonic flying towards him with a kick with Shadow and Silver heading towards each of Scourge’s sides with their arms open. Seems the plan was for Sonic to kick Scourge down while Shadow and Silver will hold him down.
Scourge’s smile even grew wider, then he ducked down making Sonic miss him and kick that chair. Sonic fell on top of that chair with dust forming all around him. Unbeknownst to him, Scourge moved his right hand to the lower step and extended his legs towards each of their respective sides.
“OOF” was heard at the same time from Shadow and Silver when they were kicked in the stomach. Their limbs extended forward from the impact, then falling on the ground. Scourge pushed his hand on that step, then flipped forward landing on his feet. He turned around and casually stared at the other three hedgehogs. Shadow clutching his stomach as he turned to his side. Silver lying on his back and rubbing his stomach. Sonic cleared the dust coming from that throne chair opening his eyes to his twin from Moebius.
Sonic didn’t quit as he already raised his arms and kicked his legs up in his classic spin dash. He revved up on those steps and launched towards Scourge. Scourge just shook his head as it was the same tactic as before. Seriously, learn some new moves thought Scourge as Sonic dashed closer to him. Scourge just extended his right leg back and kicked up at that blue ball of speed that somehow launched Sonic up in the air. Has Scourge become more powerful in his long absence. No time to ponder though still enough time for Scourge to see Sonic launch through that ceiling.
“There goes one airball” said Scourge staring up at the new hole in the ceiling with rubble fallen on the ground. Silver managed to get back up, then started glowing green. He levitated in the air and moved his left hand towards that new rubble on the ground. Soon, it floated in the air. Silver wasted no time as he launched the rubble towards Scourge. Scourge didn’t really phase from it, then formed into his own spin dash in a much faster pace than Sonic’s previous one. Scourge went right through that rubble in a pattern leaving Silver very little time to respond when Scourge was already close to him.
“AGH!” Came out of Silver’s mouth as that sharp spin dash connected with his face and chest. Silver was launched backwards to the wall and immediately fell face first to the ground out of it. Scourge landed back on his feet and dusted off his jacket. “Easy-peasy” said Scourge as he suddenly saw a red light start to form near him. He turned to the side where if it weren’t for those sunglasses, he’d have been blinded by that red light. Shadow already got back to his feet holding a red chaos emerald in his right hand with a closed fist and his other limbs close together while bent over.
“CHAOS SPEAR!” Yelled Shadow as he extended his limbs and launched red lights of spears towards Scourge. However, Scourge dodged each one moving closer to the ultimate lifeform. Shadow held the red chaos emerald in his right hand up high and yelled out
“CHAOSSS CON-OOF!” Is all that came out of Shadow’s mouth when Scourge launched a horizontal kick at Shadow’s stomach, then followed up with an uppercut right underneath Shadow’s mouth launching Shadow in the air and landing right next to Silver. Dust lifted off the ground and around their bodies as Shadow lied on his back stunned from those attacks.
“Bit of advice…” said Scourge “don’t yell out attacks.” Scourge throwing the red chaos emerald up a few times before clenching it, forming a spin dash and launching through that hole in the ceiling. Sonic was getting up and rubbing his head. That last kick made a bigger impact than he thought as he was now on the roof. Sonic’s eyes still closed reeling from that stinging pain on his head only for Scourge to suddenly burst through, stop spinning where his left heel landed right on top of that same spot Sonic was rubbing.
Sonic’s body crashing through the roof and the ceiling above Shadow and Scourge. Shadow already turned on his front and about to check on Silver until both let out a groan of pain from the rubble crushing on top of them with Sonic following not far from behind lying on top of that rubble. All groaning in pain.
Scourge coming down through another part of the ceiling and landing on his feet. Scourge noticed his chair on the ground and put it back in its proper place. Usually is right now when he’d reclaim his throne but noticed the three defeated hedgehogs not too far away.
Soon enough, Scourge walked casually towards Sonic, Shadow and Silver who were still reeling. The rubble now seemed to form its own steps but above some of Scourge’s preferred staircase. Scourge walked on that rubble and planted his right boot on top of Silver’s head making him grunt in pain. Scourge planted that left boot on Sonic’ stomach making him oof out loud while at the same time making Shadow ack out from that new weight on top of his back. He turned back to do something but couldn’t do anything closing his fist on the ground.
“Oh my, the dust seems to have clouded my sunglasses.” Said Scourge as he slowly took those off and kept them in his right hand leaving his left hand free to grab that blue quill from Sonic’s head. He pulled Sonic towards him staring with a smile showing his fangs. Putting more weight on his feet to emphasize how he crushed them so easily.
“What a day huh…” said Scourge. “I got one loser whose fate is clearly underneath my boot. Another one who ULTIMATELY fell beneath me, and the one who simply was TOO SLOW against me…”
“You know I thought nothing would be better than seeing you kneel….but this’ll be a day to remember seeing you lower than dirt.” Said Scourge as Sonic opened his eyes but not backing down. “Heh…only hedgehog here…who’s lower than dirt…is you.” Sonic responded making Scourge tilt his head. “Read your lockdown series lately?” Sonic sporting a grin with that remark making Scourge upset, but immediately showed that same grin as before.
“A clown to the end…only fitting I’d put an end to your show.” Scourge putting more strength in his foot on top of Sonic’s stomach making Sonic grunt in pain as what could sound like some bones about to crack.
Is this truly the end for Sonic, Shadow and Scourge? Will the next line we see read “All Hail Scourge”? Find out in the next issue!
