No, not that raptor Red.

So I got this freaking amazing YCH headshot commission from @monica_bares on Twitter that I'm absolutely in love with. The original sketch was quite different, but we reworked it to fit Red, the cut raptor character from Jurassic World who ended up being usurped by Blue. There's no concept art or anything to work from, so we ended up designing his face ourselves.

Yes, this guy, based on the much superior Jurassic Park 3 raptor design, was supposed to play Blue's role as Owen's raptor BFF. No idea why they scrapped him. He's gorgeous. (Not that I don't love Blue. She's gorgeous too).

But look at those eyes. Those intelligent, intense avian eyes! Much better than the slit-eyed hollywood thing they've got going in in JP1. And the quills. His quills are to die for!

Anyway, considering getting a full ref of this guy and adopt him as a character of my own. For now, I think I need some alone time with this headshot.
