More like they stumbled onto her lair. And the ruins are not Dwarven, it's an academy from an old empire that survived the PMBE. Nordy didn't really have time to fully explore the very well preserved ruins, they found the library, which became priority for Nordy hoping to find info and knowledge for himself and recover lost history of Ateth (It would have made a lot of money also)
