Tonight is such a peaceful night. The sun is long gone. The heat of the day slowly vanishes while the shimmering moonlight seems to cut through the darkness of the night just to remind us about how beautiful a night can be. No one should fear the darkness of the night and the abstinence of the sun does not mean that all light is gone. It's just a part of the circle. Light and darkness. Day and night. Death and resurrection.
No muss, no fuss. The hecticness of the day seems to be long gone and only a swarm of cranes disturbs the peaceful atmosphere as Sofia leaves the temple. It was about time for her to come to the ritual place before some of her sisters will join her to prepare the nightly ritual. Her steps leading her out of the main hall, across the piazza and finally towards the river. The purple lioness stops and stands halfway down the stairs. One more step and the fresh water would welcome her bare paws.
Sofia just wanted to take another step down the stairs as she hears how someone calls her name again and again. Someone ?! No. One of her sisters calls out for her and the lioness turns on her paws to face her. She sees how a young female jackal, who just joined the temple a few months before, runs out of the temple and towards the ritual place just like she would be to late for the ritual. It does not take long until she stops right in front of the stairways but she needs a moment to calm her breath before she is able to raise her voice again " High priestess. It is time for us to begin with the ritual. The Pharaoh arrived and I fear that he does not want to wait "
The purple lioness chuckles while she shakes her head before she raises her gaze to face the female Jackal again " Kiassa, right ? You know that you do not have to call me high priestess. It's just Sofia and I am sure that the Pharaoh does not wants to wait but he has to be patient . He has to wait for our goddess just like we have to wait too. We can not start with the ritual until our goddess Isis has arrived. "
Kiassa takes a deep breath. The arrival of the Pharaoh made her nervous. It will be the first time that she will meet him. Soon another servant of the goddess steps out of the temple to join them for the upcoming ritual. They welcome each other with a faint smile before Kiassa turns her attention back to Sofia " Are we waiting for a sign of our goddess ? How will we know that she arrived ? " The other jackal chuckles before she answers for Sofia " You will see it soon, sister. You will see it and learn to believe... "
Sofia nods towards both of them before she turns away from Kiassa and her long tail seems to draw over the surface of the water as she moves. Her next steps lead her down the stairways, slowly deeper into the water until she stops. The lioness allows herself to enjoy the fresh water while she slowly closes her eyes. A gentle breeze blows through the temple complex and a gentle smile found its way on her lips as the breeze flows around her. The wonderful smell of lavender...
The breeze seems to light up the fire bowls which surround the way from the temple towards the ritual place and a pure light appears in the middle of the water at the same time. The light moves slowly towards Sofia, illuminates up the water around her before her golden marks start to glow
" We are not alone anymore, sisters. It is time for us to welcome our goddess " Even her crystal blue eyes seem to glow as she opens her eyes again. The ritual has begun!
